The real problem is that health care providers in the U.S. need Baby Joseph's medical records -- but the Canadian authorities are refusing to release them. It is amazing the lengths the Canadian health care system is going to in order to deny Baby Joseph a chance to live.

Is this really about making sure the Canadian doctors/facilities get paid their fees?

It sounds like what is also needed is for some high-powered, PROMINENT lawyer(s) to donate services to his parents to sue/petition the hospital and courts to release these records to which they’re legally entitled.

I find it hard to believe that an American hospital can't take this child as a patient simply because they don't have/can't get the medical records.
What's the real story here?
I thought that I read earlier (a couple of weeks ago) that an American hospital refused to take him.

From what I know, the parents can ask for the medical file...

The story is that this child is not covered by any insurance in the United States... And a US hospital would be crazy to admit him as his care will run in the hundred of thousand of dollars...

I'm not sure that's true in Canada.

For starters, his parents are asking for a tracheotomy and this WILL NOT cost "hundreds of thousands of dollars."
Secondly, private groups (these would be groups that care more about live than they do about money) have already secured more than enough money to pay for Baby Joseph's care.

From what I know, the parents can ask for the medical file... They can, and they have.
We have recently discovered that Canadian law requires the hospital to release these records to Baby Joseph's parents upon request. And to date, they have refused. ~ Fr. Frank Pavone.
Do you think he's lying? I know he's not.
