Like many countries, Peru has no life imprisonment statutes.

The longest sentence one can receive is 30 years.

In Norway the longest sentence anyone can serve for any crime is 21 years.

Just as well he does not have to see it. I think the one possible thing that might be worse than having a child fall victim to someone like Van der Sloot, is to have a child -be- someone like Van der Sloot.

Well, it’s a Peruvian prison and I doubt many survive 30 months, much less 30 years.

Have you ever read any Peruvian newspapers? Watched Peruvian TV? There is plenty of drama and diversion without Joran. Like most other South American media, they feature gut-churning pictures of automobile accidents and other disasters on a daily basis. El Comerico is the only respectable one.

Thirty years is enough. There are a lot of things that can happen to Mr. Van der Sloot while he's in prison for murder. I wouldn't give him more than a year in the general prison population. Right now, Van der Sloot is in solitary confinement and away from the other prisoners. If you put him in with them, he's not got a prayer.

Daddy is dead. He died in Feb of 2010.

I had heard that his father had advised him in the Holloway case, without a body they have no case. There were two trains of speculation going on: 1.She was weighed and dumped in the ocean miles off shore. 2. She was sold into White slavery.

At any rate she is dead by now, bercause, probably 6 months is the longest she would have lasted in a South American whorehouse before being eaten up with veneral disease. As far as the Peruivan girl goes, it was said that she was beaten so badly, that she was not recognizable.

My personal opinion is, nothing bad can happen to him. Whatever he has done to him will not be enough.

The Peruvians hunger for more tabloid drama.....besides there might be a lull in gruesome automobile accidents but they’ll still have Van der Sloot
