Exactly my point.

All the law says is you can’t be discriminated on account of your sexual orientation.

It does not say you can use it an excuse to flout military discipline or to commit sodomy and other offenses against the Uniform Code Of Military Justice.

I think when Congress voted to end DADT, I think most Americans think gays don’t deserve to be persecuted or discriminated against but I also think they don’t want them given special privileges in our military service.

We Americans believe in equal treatment under the law and that doesn’t change with the repeal of DADT. It just brings things into the open. Gays now have no grounds to complain they are being treated differently from other service people. The same rules apply to them that should apply to straight people.

The same rule would apply if the sailor was caught sleeping with a woman. In my opinion, the Navy is just even handedly enforcing the law.
