Interpol has issued a global alert to warn police forces to be on the lookout for Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi and 15 of his closest supporters.
The 'orange notice' provides details of the UN sanctions imposed on Colonel Gaddafi, the dictator's family and other senior members of the government to 188 law-enforcement agencies across the world.
Interpol hopes that alerting police forces will help to ensure Colonel Gaddafi and his inner circle will be unable to flout their travel bans and the assets freeze six of the group have been subjected to.
Yeah, that’s really productive.
Plenty true.
However, it’s better than them rolling out the red carpet for the thug.
You don’t like him Civ.
Is this like tracking Bigfoot sightings? Blue light specials @ K-Mart?
If I see him, I’ll send him your way...
;-)
Thats smart,,,, lets give him a reason to stay till the death. He needs to be thinking of a desert island, a villa in Saudi Arabia,,,whatever.
All the posturing aside,, guys like him, Saddam, etc need to think there is a rational escape route. Telling them that if they leave the country they face immediate trial in the ICC only hardens their resolve to stay put.
There are a lot of American Citizens who’s family members died who want him put on trial!
Take him to Gitmo and convene a trial. Let Obama make excuses and apologies later.
How can that be possible? Isn’t he the leader of the country that leads the UN Human Relations Commission.
Funny how the world is against Qaddafi now that it looks like his days are done. He was always a thug, but as I recall, he was welcomed often in the UN and elsewhere as a champion of Africa, the 3rd World, etc...
It just shows that nations only respect power.
