LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says he wasn't criticizing Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman when he suggested her pregnancy was glamorizing the idea of having children outside of marriage.
Huckabee on Friday accused "the Hollywood media" of distorting comments he made about Portman in a radio interview Monday.

The “Huckster” is as bad as Joe Biteme about putting his foot in his mouth. Says something, then recants it, when the heat is turned on.
Huck reminds me of Dan Quayle. He says some things...which ten percent are fairly stupid. He needs to talk alot less...to avoid looking foolish like he does in this case.
Always distorting. Whatever huckster. Go pick on someone your own size....well it could be hard to find someone but try anyway. Again, I don’t necessarily agree with having a baby out of wedlock, but she easily could have aborted the baby and went on with her life. But she did the right thing and not only is going to have the baby but is getting married to the father BEFORE the baby is born.
Well, he was right on this. Based on looking through popular magazines in the check-out line at my local supermarket, I’d say about 50% of the articles about “new mother” celebrities deal with women who may be able to identify the child’s father, but aren’t married to him or anyone else and don’t intend to be married. So every teenage twit thinks she can do likewise.
However, these women are making insane amounts of money for being 3rd rate actresses/vocalists/whatever, and they actually don’t plan to bring the children up themselves. The children grow up in Celebrity Nannyland.
This is a bad thing, but what is even worse is the stupid teenager who lets her out of wedlock child grow up in Mom’s Abusive Boyfriend Land, which is definitely what’s going to happen to them.
So she won an Academy Award...a preggo-ho is a preggo-ho.
Hollyweird celebrates this kind of behaviour. Better for the Huckster to man up & and call the spade a spade.
I’d have more respect for him if he did.
Really, who worries about offending Hollywood, anyway...
First Palin now Huckster. Hmmm...
She gets knocked-up and then flaunts it, and the looney's on the Left think it's fine and a badge of Honor?
Call a spade a spade; she's a tramp.
Huckabee is a total idiot. The country running multi-trillion dollar deficits, the government is out of control and gasoline about to over $4.00 per gallon. Our great country is being destroyed and Huckabee goes on tv and radio shows to gossip about celebrities. Then after Huckabee makes the obvious comment that Natalie Portman was unmarried and pregnant and it is not a good idea for teenage girls to get pregnant he backs down and flip flops on the thing and says what a great actress she is.
Huckabee attacks anyone who guestion Obama’s false birth certificate and false biography. He talks about how wonderful Barack and Michele Obama are and how those terrible conservatives are being mean to them. Now he gossips about celebrities.
Huckabee should just shut up and go away.
Huckabee denies the image of a cross in his Christmas ad
Huckabee denies trying to protect his dog-torturing son from prosecution
Huckabee denies that he had anything to do with the clemency release of the killer who killed an entire table of police officers in WA
Huckabee denies that he sneaked away for a gastric bypass, only to write a book about how he lost the weight with only diet and exercise
Regardless, the point is well taken. Illigitimate birth is a bad idea.
yitbos
The purpose of the Huck is to make Dan Quayle look good.
Did he have a gastric bypass, first I’ve heard of that? I can’t imagine what Republican primary voters would see in him, but he is now a familiar name, and that’s what matters.
let me clarify
The “snake-handlers” will soon be out in defense of the Huckster.
"So, Auntie Mike, tell me what you think about Natalie Portman..."
"Sonny, she's a scarlet woman. I'm telling you to stay away from her kind!"
