Imported many years ago, Axis deer. Those are the ones you see like in India/Asia with the white spots even after they are adults. There are so many here on Maui that I know guys that have permission to spotlight them on the big golf courses here at Wailea. The do all kinds of damage to the greens etc. and they can legally have them eradicated. Thus I get venison from my friends. The Urdman family that own Ulapalkua Ranch, on the mountain up about where I live in Kihei also have an Elk herd. The wild goats and pigs have come from many years of tame animals gone wild. Pigs are something. You can release a tame pig into the wilds and within one a couple of generations they start growing hair and tusk. All above are very good eating.
