Interesting, because this wasn't primarily my assessment, it was primarily the assessment of the late well known journalist, Nora Beloff, an expert on the Balkans and a biographer of Tito's, who was NOT a Serb.
Go find yourself a Holocaust denier, or some kook thinking the moon landing was a scam......... You can find people saying anything and it's “you” who conveniently throws this out there after such an event because you can't see past your Serb nose and ants to exploit this situation. Hope your not an American, if so, you're no better than them, a hyphenated American with bones to pick and loyalties to others besides the US, Germany, whoever.

The only thing that I am grappling with is why you choose to read and comment on a subject you "have no interest in".
I am an American -- that has no qualifiers or hyphens and needs none. My father came to the US from Montenegro as a kid back in the 1920's and served in the US Army during WWII. My mother was born here and her family also came from Montenegro about 1905. I studied Balkan history long before the wars in former Yugoslavia because I had and interest in it and we were family friends with a guy name Wayne Vucinich who started and chaired the Balkan and Eastern European History Department at Stanford for decades. Part of the relationship was that "Uncle Wayne" always brought me a new book to read, which is why I can say without qualification that what the American people was fed about the former Yugoslavia was a crock.

I don't know what you think is "obvious", but everything I have ever said and ever encouraged was that the US take NO sides in the former Yugoslavia and stay out it. We had no interest there, we were making all the wrong moves, and I knew our actions would come back to bite us -- and they have -- repeatedly.
If you want me to apologize for being an avid reader and interested in a subject that you aren't interested in, then I'd say I am guilty. If you are accusing me of being anti-American because I have knowledge and interest in a part of the world that you don't, then you have either drawn a mistaken conclusion about me or you are a complete jackass.

This nation has a true problem with people who act first and foremost not in the best interests of America and their fellow citizens but based on the group they identify with before the hyphen. Even those Latino’s running in the streets with Mexican flags and speaking Spanish will make the exact same argument you make in their defense. You're response on this issue is a near self admission of where you stand. If I were to go back in posts, I bet I would be able to see a constant dribble of this misguided loyalty or pre contrived attitude, right?

Where you stand is obvious, even if you deny it in all the typical ways. The irony with this is that in reality you're not much different than those you're putting down.

Red6 is another one of those “America can do no wrong” apologists and thinks that American exceptionalism is an entitlement. He’d support Sharia if he felt it served “American interests”, another one of those wrapped so tightly in the flag that if Christ himself told him to let it go he’d level his rifle at him.
So based on your own criteria, only White Anglo Saxon Protestants of mixed or unknown/irrelevant ancestry born in America, who’ve never traveled past their own backyards, know nothing of any other culture or of history, and never read a book that a teacher didn’t force them to read, “know what America’s best (foreign policy) interests are”.
If that’s the case, then God Save us — from our own stupidity!
