MADISON -- The 14 missing Senate Democrats have until 4 p.m. today to return to the Capitol or face apprehension tantamount to arrest with or without force."
GOP Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) ordered the apprehension of the senators who fled the state two weeks ago to Illinois to avoid a vote on Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill.
Republicans voted 19-0 to give the Democrats until 4 p.m. Thursday to appear before the Senate.
"They have pushed us to the edge of a constitutional crisis," Fitzgerald said. "We simply cannot have democracy be held hostage because the minority wants to prove a point."
The Senate also voted for a "call of the house," which is the mechanism used to compel senators to return to the chamber.
That means the Senate sergeant at arms Ted Blazel can "with or without force" and with or without the help of any law enforcement officers in the state to take them into custody and bring them to the state Capitol.

50 minutes and counting. Tick tock.
What a sleazy slime ball lawyer! But, then I repeat myself...
Impressive. Throw the book at them.
They only need one. Hunt down that fat Momma’s boy living paycheck to paycheck in his parents’ basement. I suspect he’ll be the quickest and easiest to subdue (this includes the pregnant one and the senior citizen).
“or a priate contractor, if necessary.”
These guys could easily do the job:

Are elected officials public employees?
Stuff is about to get real.
Doesn’t seem that way to me. Wasn’t today supposed to be the deadline. It looks like the Gov. is buckling slightly. It’s like counting 1 -2- 3 to a misbehaving child. Until you put another crack in their rear ends, will they then tow the line.
This same “about to get real” situation will happen when one of these states arrests a federal agent for attempting to enforce an unconstitutional law within that state.
Uh, the article says today IS the deadline. Thursday, 3/3/11. 4pm.
LOL, that made MY day!
Hey, wait just a minute there. Judge Vinson’s ruling today was pure gold. First and foremost, the Obama administration acknowledged that they were aware of the ruling by asking for clarification.
Second, Vinson interpreted their asking for “clarification” as actually asking for a stay. He “gave” them a stay of 7 days, to file an appeal with the 11th Circuit Court. If they don’t, they must stop implementation. The 11th Circuit is not the venue that the Obama admin wanted to defend the law in, nor is it the time frame and it is most certainly not the case ruling they wanted to use for appeal.
This was a very good development.
You need to catch up!
The 11th circuit is very conservative, is it not?
Ummm, yeah, but they are OUT of State, so what's any different?
How many other deadlines have come and gone? Layoffs started yet?
I think WI is in the Central time zone?
I too was fooled by the intentionally deceptive headline.
These leftist bathturd “journalists” need to experience some consequences for their bias.
...white courtesy phone please...
Lock the doors on all the RAT Senators staffs.........Or, just cut phone lines, internet access, turn off heat, and the lights...............
Good question. It seems to me if the Democrat perpetrators (but I repeat myself) somehow appeared on the Wisconsin side of the border and if Wisconsin law enforcement was notified of their location, and if there was no evidence of illegal abduction in Illinois then it is hard to see how any crime was committed. Maybe they just got drunk and stumbled over the border.
