MADISON -- The 14 missing Senate Democrats have until 4 p.m. today to return to the Capitol or face apprehension tantamount to arrest with or without force."
GOP Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) ordered the apprehension of the senators who fled the state two weeks ago to Illinois to avoid a vote on Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill.
Republicans voted 19-0 to give the Democrats until 4 p.m. Thursday to appear before the Senate.
"They have pushed us to the edge of a constitutional crisis," Fitzgerald said. "We simply cannot have democracy be held hostage because the minority wants to prove a point."
The Senate also voted for a "call of the house," which is the mechanism used to compel senators to return to the chamber.
That means the Senate sergeant at arms Ted Blazel can "with or without force" and with or without the help of any law enforcement officers in the state to take them into custody and bring them to the state Capitol.

Are citizen’s arrests lawful in this situation?

I’ve heard all week about deadlines, final chance...on and on.
So far...NOTHING has happened.
How long we going to let these people pee on our feet and tell us it’s raining?
And frankly I don’t know who is peeing, the Dems or the Repubs. But as of now...no one’s been fired thought I heard all week people will get fired.
No Dem has defected although, again, lots of reports that this Dem or that one’s going to return.
No deadline has happened....although there’s been loan deadlines, and this deadline and that deadline...but nothing.
Nothing’s happened, nothing at all.
Sorry, but from my vantage point, the emperor has on not a whit of clothes.

And if we find them in Illinois, can we subdue them and bring them into Wisconsin ourselves. Seriously, we should know the boundaries here. They might be able to evade police, but they can’t evade the Tea Party very long.

Hey Dem-wits: Welcome the rule of law.
Yes, it will be an arrest.
Yes, it will be on your record.
Yes, you will have to admit it on your next job application.
Good luck with that.

Are citizens arrests lawful in this situation?
lol, don't think so, but citizens can "tattle" on them. From JSOnline,
Senate Republicans threaten missing Democrats with contempt
......."Fitzgerald, who met with two of the Democrats in Kenosha on Monday, said
he believed some of the lawmakers were entering Wisconsin for other errands and going to their homes.
Fitzgerald said the resolution would allow the absent Democrats to be taken into custody, which he called "a legal difference from arrest."
He said that citizens who see absent Democrats in Wisconsin could report them to police. ".............
