U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson has issued a stay of his own ruling declaring the health care reform law unconstitutional, giving the Obama administration seven days to file an appeal.
The stay means implementation of the law can proceed pending the administrations appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
In his ruling, Vinson repeated what he has said previously that the citizens of this country have an interest in having this case resolved as soon as practically possible.
That was nearly eleven months ago, he wrote. In the time since, the battle lines have been drawn, the relevant case law marshaled, and the legal arguments refined. Almost everyone agrees that the constitutionality of the Act is an issue that will ultimately have to be decided by the Supreme Court of the United States. It is very important to everyone in this country that this case move forward.

Sounds like he’s forcing The Messiah’s hand here, in that he’s giving them 7 days to Appeal; otherwise, I believe he will render a Contempt ruling, along with a Cease and Decist on Obamacare, whereby they can no longer NOT stop implementation.

What happens if they dont appeal in 7 days? A stern warning will be sent to them. They can then put off the appeal indefinitely. Typical socilaist/marxist/liberal tactic.

I think this is being misunderstood. The Government was trying to get a backdoor stay. What he did is give them a 7 day stay (normally a stay could last months to years). Now he says look, you guys have drug your feet long enough, this needs to be affirmed so this law can be thrown out.

This is a good ruling for our side. Judge is tired of the games.

Agreed.
Justice moves much more slowly than we would prefer, but after reading Vinson’s arguments I’m fine with however he wants to move forward. He would know better than I which is the best way to get this thing lock-tight.
Or I would assume that he does.

Oh. My. God.
This means the Obama minions threatened him or his family with their lives.
The rule of law is GONE in this country.

If I understand it, the judge ordered them to seek an expedited appeal, either to the CoA or to the SC..saying that this issue will ultimately end up with SCOTUS, and that it's important that constitutionality be decided.
I understand that the judge can't ORDER them to take it to the Supremes, but it seems to me that he pretty much told SCOTUS that they had to take it..it would be pretty hard for them not to do so not..even if Obama goes to the CoA..

Try another option, NOT POLITICO.
It means, Obama got more than ‘clarification’ he asked for.
It’s a stay,- as long as Obama-(IF)- files to expedite the case to the Supreme court in 7 days...

So, Ozombie wanted to have this float around for years, and the judge only gave the White Hut SEVEN days.
OK, from yours and other posts this may not be as bad as it sounds.
I thought that this judge had asked for the state AG’s to respond to Ozombie’s “clarification.” I guess they passed on that.
