The Westboro Pigs Church is disgusting
Politicons ^ | March 2nd | Henry D'Andrea

Today the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the anti: American, God, freedom, bravery, church Westboro. The church which has no affiliation to any other Baptist organization, sends members to picket funerals of military servicemen who were killed in action. This isn’t a matter of Liberals Vs. Conservatives anymore. It’s matter of being patriotic. You can be against the war, but desecrating those who fight for us to be able to even have this conversation is wrong.

These soulless Westboro protesting pigs are literally sociopaths. (See video below) They are so delusional, they think god kills soldiers. Their signs such as “Thank god for dead soldiers” or “Thank god for 9/11,” are completely disgusting. They have no respect for anyone but themselves...

Didn’t somebody come up with Phelps being a registered Dem?

Phelps tried to get Clinton to make him his running mate, and threw a fit when Clinton chose Gore instead.

If I were on a jury, I could not find someone guilty who beat the hell out of these guys.

It could happen on video, I still find the attackers not guilty

Because they’re already infamous and the families aren’t their real targets.

It’s the MSM negative coverage of “crazy Christians” that they want.

It’s all about undermining real Christians.

They mainly aim for media attention, rather than actually harassing the people at the funerals.

A lot of people here seem to think WBC is right there at the doors of the church, harassing the people as they walk in, when in fact they are usually blocks away, out of earshot of the mourners.

I blame the media for covering these freaks.

In fact, the fact that they get so much media makes me think they are agent provocateurs.

If they were on the up and up our media wouln't be covering them IMHO.

Which is the whole reason this particular ruling was correct.

They usually have “company” during their protests.

So the people who show up to oppose WBC and support the families of the fallen will have the same freedom?

I know people [mostly liberals] who actually believe these hell spawn are Christians.

They’re very good at what they do.

It may be time to deal with these folks in an extra-legal fashion. It’s American tradition.

They are just a bunch of Libs who do this for the money they get by suing people, its just a business to them. I am still waiting for the day someone just goes off and kills these pieces of sh!t, I will rejoice when/if this happens.

These cretins seem to exist for attention. Perhaps if Freepers indulged them and gave them maximum attention (e.g., klieg lights, loudspeakers 24 hours/day, drum beats, rap music, etc.) they might decide to knock it off.

As distasteful as these people are, this is a victory for free speech. I am appalled that so many freepers do not understand this. If the government can curtail the speech of those with whom we disagree, what’s to stop them from curtailing your right to free speech.

Earlier WBC practice was to show up at the funerals, which was foiled by various human shield efforts such as the Patriot Riders, to whom a huge salute is due.

The only time WBC is known to have given up in disgust is when they came to protest a comics convention. The Burros slunk away when conventioneers, undaunted, paraded around with signs such as “I love gay Robin.” It seems perhaps that mocking is the only language the Burros understand. Tea Parties might try taking a trick from that. (Note that even “loving gay Robin” wouldn’t necessarily mean one approves of everything gay Robin does. Love is something greater and sometimes is exercised in spite of evil.)

So I say, as long as WBC keeps itself in public squares out of view and hearing of funeral participants, then Tea Partiers and people of similar sympathies should just come and give WBC the big raspberry. It’s legal.

I believe this is the same type of argument that Scalia made when he voted against banning the burning of the U.S. flag. If I recall, he said that though he finds it distateful and would never ever do it, according to his oath to uphold the Constitution he had to allow it.

Too much has been and being made of this issue, too much hair splitting over the years, decades, it is ridiculous and betrays the moral and intellectual corruption of our supposedly superior civilization. It's embarrassing to even discuss such vile acts as the burning of the flag. This should be the stuff of community colleges not the Supreme Court of the United States.

Chase these scumbags away from the funerals, tear gas or whatever, and throw away any lawsuits that they file, the 1st Amendment will not suffer. There is something called common sense that overrides your hair splitting over sentences and commas in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

True. All it takes is one time for the police to ‘fail to prosecute’ when the WBC shows up at a funeral. That would take care of most of the problem.
