They are passing some things but they being adults and don't want to overreach.

It's bad at the capital. Roger Hedgecock had State Sen Glenn Grothman (R-WI) on his national show Tuesday. The interview was delayed because Glenn had trouble getting to his office because of the protestersmob.

According to him the Republican senators are well supported back home in their districts. The "backlash" as you called it is theater put on by the left and staring bussed in thugs and paid agitators. If they overreached, a genuine backlash could occur and put all the good work being done in WI in grave jeopardy.

All eyes are on Wisconsin and they need to do this right so it gets done and so other states will follow.

Actually, the strong link is on the Republican side.

There were fleebaggers who met with the Majority leader in the Senate...in Wisconson! They actually went back into enemy territory...to talk the the Republican leader.

Gives me hope. That, and the fact that Gov. Walker is such a strong leader!

Pubs are and always will be candy-assed wimps. They’re all cowards and they all have feet of clay.

I realize people here are optimistic because of this development, but I take it 100% the other way. The pubs do not need to be meeting privately with the rats unless it’s because they’re giving something up. It has NEVER been any other way when they do this. The pubs are caving.

The pubs are caving as we speak. Not Walker, but enough of the pub senate to queer the whole bill. There was NO other reason for them to meet with the senate rats.

Senate pubs are caving is what it means. Why else would they meet on rat terms?

You know they drew straws to see who would be the 14 idiots to go on the lam and make the vote impossible. I'm sure the ones that pulled short straw were pissed.

I hadn't heard that there were Republicans considering defection, though I'd heard rumors. Are you sure on that?

“Senate pubs are caving is what it means. Why else would they meet on rat terms?”

I haven’t seen any indication that the pubs are caving. The fact that rat senators met with the pubs behind the back of the rat leader does not indicate pub weakness. Only a true pessimist could draw that conclusion.

As far as I can tell, Walker has the pubs standing strong. They know the whole nation is watching and the stakes are high. Keep in mind also that you would need 3 pub senators to cave, not just 1, to swing the majority vote to the rats. I could see 1 caving, but I don’t think 3 would be that spineless when we are obviously holding a winning hand.

So it sounds like a crime IS being committed...what is going to be down about it right now? Where is the uproar? Why is this not a 24/7 issue?

I thought the police could grab them in WI. Why is it the minute one of them stepped back over state lines they weren’t brought to the Capitol, for an immediate vote?

I bet a few probably have spouses ready to divorce them.

For what? They are girlie-men now, maybe, but they knew they were girlie-men when they married them.

This isn't a parlor game. The Slave Party will be back for blood no matter what the Republicans do.

So as an example, pass a law compelling observation of Communications Workers v. Beck, thus requiring unions to ask a worker for monies to be spent on campaigns, along with auditing and real enforcement provisions. Hit the union leaders where they live and take back the money they steal from the workers.

The real problem isn't collective bargaining anyway; it's union monopoly. The governor should start pushing WI representatives and Senators for amendment of the National Labor Relations Act of 1933 to that effect.

Start holding hearings on the cozy relationships between union bosses, bureaucratic regulations, and businesses that fund Democrats. Cut off their money by clamping down on corruption. To that effect, start reforming regulatory laws that kill businesses and property owners while wrecking the very assets they are supposed to protect, in everything from forestry to hunting, grazing, and fisheries. Democrats get buckets of money from consulting firms that accomplish little more than to extort funds from permit seekers.

Institute a structural variance for research into methods to improve the condition of natural habitat at lower cost and with less paperwork. Let's begin the process of developing free-market solutions to what has been historically a regulatory agency monopoly. Just do it.

There is a way to fix this, and it starts with instituting justice and fair play, over their dead twitching bodies if necessary. Do that, and the Democrats will come RUNNING back.

Not all of these Dems are rich, and they have bills to pay, like everybody else. Recalls are now in motion against them, and in 13 days the seats can be declared abandoned, and they lose those cushy jobs.

The WI Constitution says:

Vote on fiscal bills; quorum. SECTION 8. On the passage in either house of the legislature of any law which imposes, continues or renews a tax, or creates a debt or charge, or makes, continues or renews an appropriation of public or trust money, or releases, discharges or commutes a claim or demand of the state, the question shall be taken by yeas and nays, which shall be duly entered on the journal; and three−fifths of all the members elected to such house shall in all such cases be required to constitute a quorum therein.
If a seat is declared vacant, would that seat be counted towards the total for quorum purposes? If that is the case, then as soon as one seat is declared vacant, then the Repubs have a quorum, because there will no longer be 33 members, but only 32.

Just wait until the 30 days has passed and declare their seats vacant. Discontinue paychecks, benefits, Gov’t issued credit card, etc. Take steps to hold election to fill the seats. They’ll come scurryin back.
