Fox News says the United States has deployed some Marines and two amphibious ships to help with the evacuations in Libya.
The news comes one day after the U.S. moved naval and air forces closer to Libya and said all options were open, including patrols of the North African nation's skies to protect its citizens from their ruler, Muammar Qaddafi.
The Obama administration is demanding that Gadhafi relinquish power immediately.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned that Libya is at risk of collapsing into a "protracted civil war" amid increasingly violent clashes between the two sides.
On Tuesday, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice cast doubt on Qaddafi's sanity and ability to lead and said the international community will continue pressuring Qaddafi with embargos and sanctions until he steps down.

Personally, I think this is one we should stay out of. We’ve asked enough of our boys in actions in the Middle East. They’ll hate us no matter what we do, and we may not want to be in any way responsible for what follows Qaddafi (or however it’s spelled today).

we don’t have enough military. we had to pull those Marines from other places they were needed. how tragic for America to be always playing catch up. I can remember when we set the bar. But now we sit AT the bar instead throwing parties for Gladys Knight one week and motown the next...turning the white house into a sleezy place

This is a cluster f#@k of the biggest magnitude. When the Marines get there BOTH sides are going to start shooting at them.
The Muslim Brotherhood will make sure that some agent provocateurs appear on Ghadaffi's side and then of course the muzzies on the rebel side will want the white christian invaders OUT.

Hey, I know what obastard should do: (1) impose insane ROE’s, (2) run a social experiment having to do with homosexual troops, (3) cut the military’s budget, and (4) stick our troops into the middle of a hot civil war.
That will increase morale! What could go wrong?
