I’m 72, and we have been playing catch up all of the last century and this century.
My Dad was a WWI Vet, he and his fellow vets were drafted from their farms/ranches/stores/wherever to fight a German professional army. That was a big catchup.
I’m 72, and my first real memory was Pearl Harbor another example of catchup. Then came the NK invasion of SK and then the ChiCom invasion of Korea.
The cold war got hotter and about exploded with the Cuban Crisis and that evolved into the Viet Nam war. I was on active duty during those two catchups.
Then the Islamofascists took over Iran and we have been catching up since then.
9/11 was another catchup.
Now we have Libya, Egypt and most of the middle east/North Africa getting ready to explode.

this is typical of Obama a tepid response some Marines and two amphibious landing craft to evacuate more Westerners. He will do the least possible and than he will expect the praise when and if Qaddaffi falls. A prseident whom has no backbone and no spirit to fight for anything than mediocrity.
