Ugh. Hong Kong's English daily South China Morning Post has a distinctly unsavory dispatch from the Chinese media this morning: Government scientists have released research that millions of acres of Chinese agricultural land and over 12 million tons of Chinese grain are contaminated by toxic metal pollution, according to this week's edition of the China Economic Weekly, a state-run magazine.
Last week, a separate article reported that 10% of Chinese rice contained excess cadmium, a heavy metal known to cause cancer.

I found an "organic" canned tomato product at the store labeled 'Full Circle' that I'm very suspicious of. All the other tomato products say 'Product of USA' or "Product of Italy,' etc. 'Full Circle' says nothing except that it's imported... Wish there were a website we could go to that would tell us where all this crap is coming from.
There are reports that the chinese are making fake rice with plastic filler.
$0.50
But I thought collectivism meant clean air, clean water, and perfectly safe products?
At least that is what the libs tell us, right?

Not an opinion.
I am just relaying reports.
That’s fine. There is plenty of white long grain rice grown right here in the US, mainly in Texas and Louisiana. Don’t buy Chinese rice and you directly aid the US economy.
Jesus Christ!!! OMG, is that true? I shouldn’t be so surprised, I guess; the Chinese Communist Party doesn’t care about it’s own people. Why should it care about ours?
IMHO I would not put it past the chinese.
They have been caught red handed numerous times.
Yep.
I’d like to see that link. I’d like to see the video of the gut sitting at a table with a little putty knife filling up rice husks with plastic, too, but I’ll settle for the link.
Never, never, never, NEVER buy food from the ChiComs. If it doesn’t say, ASSUME it is from China.
Get your food locally - best from a farmer’s market or even better if you grow it yourself. If you don’t know where a food product is from, choose something else. It’s important for your health, but also helps keep American dollars in America.
All I can say is that other asians are suspicious of chinese produce and are making these claims.
They wont eat it.
we should start a thread about what IS made in America...
surprisingly, I don't think Carharts are, nor much of Cabelas stuff.....
Soon to be on sale at a Walmart near you!
We know for a fact that they were making dumpling dough from cardboard during the olympics.
Is that picture from the link?
Good advice! I check EVERYTHING nowadays. Ticks me off the US government is allowing the stuff into the country.
