Sorry, friend. I’m not up for a long-winded religious argument.

I’m merely pointing out that Michael Reagan is sounding weaker, and more liberal than he did just 24 short months ago, hence the comparisons to his brother and his father.

The concept of religion didn’t enter into my comment.

I don’t engage in debates involving religion. You’ll have to have fun without me.

Well then, don’t criticize him for his politics when he talks religion. If you ain’t mixing them, don’t mix them.

“and that they be prevented from destroying our country.”

That makes sense. :)

Ah, so you can come into a thread about prayer and give the thumbs up to a specific prayer, but if someone asks you about the prayer you don’t get involved in debates about religion.

Is it unChristian of me to say, “Yeah, riiiiiight”?

Fine, don’t debate religion with me. Go ask your pastor if God wants you to pray for the President of the United States to die young. That should be entertaining.

“Do you think Jesus and Paul meant pray for people to die?”

Nobody said that. YOU have a dark mind, interpreting what Mr Edd and Deaf Smith said, that way.

“Let his days be few; Let another take his office.”

was very clearly referring to “let his days be few IN POWER/OFFICE, let he NOT be reelected”

THEY are NOT responsible for your misinterpretation.

Nobody here intimated even vaguely that they wanted anything but the best of health for our President, just we all want him to definitely NOT get reelected, and have another president whose objective is NOT to destroy the US, as Obama’s clearly is, demonstrating it with every action.

Michael Reagan and YOU pray for whomever YOU want to, the rest of us pray for whomever WE want to, and it’s NONE of YOUR business, for WHOM we are praying.

Everyone has the same 24 hrs in a day, and you may not find a worthier person for whom to pray, than Obama during your prayer time, but many of the rest of us think that our prayer time is better spent to pray for our loved ones, our troops, our country and those who will do good, NOT evil.

You may be happy to learn that Thorazine is now available in both vanilla and chocolate.

Trying to put words in my mouth is seen by me as just another way of lying... so take you attitude and wonder off.... it’s wasted on me.

Michael Reagan published this as an opinion-piece in FoxNews, NOT in his church’s newsletter.

Therefore it is intertwined with politics and we are most certianly can comment on his politics.

As I said in my first post — this is an opinion-piece, and we are free to comment as we see fit, and we are having fun with it, as was the intent.

Your “holier-than-thou” attitude of admonishing people who express their opinion is ridiculous.

Why bother?

Pray for Mao?

Stalin?

Adolf?

Pelosi?

it's nuts...I pray for my family and innocents especially the wee ones who are at our mercy in need or leaders I share values with

I don't get all this kumbaya crap. I was raised Southern Baptist from the old days. Onward Christian Soldiers...Rock of Ages, Just as I Am....you know what I mean.

This New Age Rick Warren junk sounds like Deepak Chopra with a rosary or

I will never pray for my enemies who wish to destroy my way of life and all the sacrifices of those who came before as an extension of their own neurosis and issues...like where's daddy or why am I mixed race etc..

Not now not ever.

Do I pray for Osma Bin Laden?

Hell no..I pray for his victims to get justice...now in the physical world.

hell man...all these touchy feely mess...how on earth will we ever prevail

like everything else...too many Christians have lost their guts and find being on their knees easier than cowboying up

prayer is so good for so many things...my life's history is a roadmap of God's providence and grace and those here who know me can attest to that

but pray for our foes...get outta here

PS: Dick Land...wuss

PSII: there is a lot of stuff in the Old Covenant that speaks to this...it's too easy to cherrypick the New Testament to rationalize being a doormat..not me

Well then, don’t criticize him for his politics when he talks religion.

Begging your pardon, but just because Michael Reagan said "we need to pray for him (Obama)" doesn't mean he was writing a religious piece. His article is most definitely political in nature, and that is what I'm commenting on.

If you ain’t mixing them, don’t mix them.

I'm not the one mixing them. You are. This isn't a religious topic, and I see no need to make it so.

I couldn’t agree with you more. That kind of garbage drives me up the wall. That is precisely why I stay clear of the restricted “religious threads”.

You and me, both. :)

For a while they had this thread of “Pray for Obama” in the Religion topic, it just made me sick.

The point here was exactly that we COULD express our opinions, without the religious police admonishing us — until Mr. S appointed himself as religious police for this thread, though it was totally inappropriate.

For what it’s worth, I come to Free Republic for political information and conversation - not religion. I get that on my own terms, at my own church, and in the quiet of my own solitude.

I stay as far away as I can from religious conversation on this forum, because for me, an online forum is just not the place for me to discuss my most deeply held personal beliefs. That’s all.
