As the apostle Paul wrote, we need to pray "for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives" (1 Timothy 2:2). So I pray for President Obama while I oppose his agenda. In fact, our prayers have never been more urgently needed than right now.
A quick check of the headlines shows that President Obama faces enormous challenges around the globe. The Muslim world is in upheaval, and there's no telling if the result will be the rise of democracy -- or a descent into Iran-style theocracy.
Imagine being the president of the United States, confronting this rising chaos without any firm Reaganesque principles to guide you. That's the situation President Obama finds himself in. This man truly needs our prayers.

Since this is an opinion please, you can all voice your true opinions -- vs when something like this is posted under religion, where you are forbidden to post what you really think. ;)
You can be satisfied that Michael Reagan shares your opinion that it’s a good idea to pray for Obama.
But I am very happy you stopped your “Pray for Obama” threads and hope this will not encourage you to restart them. ;)
Need the statement you usually posted on the “Pray for Obama” threads, here too. :)
Lets pray that Obama grow a brain
Scripture is very clear that Christians do, in fact, need to pray for their leaders. (Their enemies, too... sometimes these are one and the same.)
I try, but I’ll be honest: it’s one of the harder commands for me to follow, especially while Obama is POTUS.
Keep in mind however, that just because Christians must pray for their enemies and leaders does *not* imply we must pray that they be successful in harming us.
You can pray for them without endorsing their behavior or direction.
does praying for his impeachment count?
Actually, I pray that Obama and Biden resign. :)
I’d prefer to pray for my country and pray that one way or another this country is soon delivered from the usurper who currently occupies the White House! I don’t care what happens to him as long as we’re delivered of his misrule.
far away from us."
“does praying for his impeachment count?”
Counts for me. I would consider that one of the more productive prayers. :)
God probably possessed him to write this article. If we cannot pray for our enemies or people we dont agree with, we have a bigger problem than they do. Jesus commanded we pray for people who hate us, if we don’t we are disobeying Him.
Id prefer to pray for my country and pray that one way or another this country is soon delivered from the usurper who currently occupies the White House! I dont care what happens to him as long as were delivered of his misrule.I was wondering what was the best way to respond to this thread... then I read your comment.
I second it.
I pray he gets a LONG vacation starting in 2012.
God didn’t instruct us to pray for evil, or it wouldn’t be in the prayer: “Deliver us from evil”.
This is what fieldmarshalldj used to post on the “Pray for Obama” threads, but apparently he is not online now to post it here, but I totally agree.
There’s a darkly funny country-music song about a guy who prays for his enemies, but he only prays for bad things to happen to them.
Personally, I don’t pray for the physical harm of our foes, but I do pray for obama, soros, and their cabal to lose all power, influence, and wealth.
Michael’s heart is bigger than mine.
I never seem to make it past “Oh, God...”
I pray for him as best as I can, to the end that we can live in all peace and godliness - not that he get what he seems to be aiming for, which seems to be the destruction of America. Such horrible debt is not godly. The kowtowing to Mohammedanism is not godly. His and Michelle’s tone deafness to the misery of their “subjects” is not godliness. His overall behavior is not godly in my estimation.
The prayer could be for God’s enlightenment
I pray 0bama’s commie agenda fails miserably. Is that what you mean, Michael?
