I think the facts will come out, and it will resolve in a day or two anyway with the budget release. I suggest listening to Wisco news/talk, which btw, is far more accurate than FNC. It may seem like Walker blinked on the capitol, but I am not so sure—I will wait before passing judgment. I don’t see him as a blinker on the bill; the most important issue. Tho the protesters are acting like babies, as a parent of 3, I won’t claim to know more about governing than the governor or that there aren’t extenuating circumstances to which I’m not privy. For ex. on FR threads, I’ve read that Madison PD didn’t want to provide backup, transportation, or facilities for holding etc. If true, how/where would you take protesters? Walker may have good reasons for not sending out the National Guard & keeping lid on violence instead of capitol becoming a bigger distraction to make a point. Maybe he doesn’t want to win the battle and lose the war? I have seen many threads this week with posts from folks from all over the country who don’t know all the facts who are armchair quarterbacking & criticizing this courageous governor who IMHO has been a true example of grace under fire, and one of the first and only politicians to truly tackle these problems. I just can’t say anything negative about him at this point.
No disrespect, but Parenting 101 ex. is particularly poignant for me...especially as it relates to discipline. There were times when my parenting was criticized; I couldn’t find “parenting 101” for my particular family dynamic. My kids just didn’t fit in the neat profiles so common in parenting books; profoundly gifted kids are like that. However, working thru issues, and not using pat answers, they managed to have a relatively happy and trouble-free childhood and have grown into bright, caring, and professionally/personally successful adults—but there was no parenting 101. Sometimes things seem very simple on the outside, but only to those who don’t know the facts.
Excellent -
Now every vagrant in Wisonsin can go stay in the captial.
If the cops roust them out - how is that not unequal enforcement?
If I were a taxpayer in WI - I would expect an across the board 10% tax reduction. the government is out of control.
Woah! Thanks—gonna go check this out!
which tab or channel are you watching?
I am not seeing any coverage for today—I had heard there were sessions today—are you looking at archived video of Senate from 2/25?
Belling is not talking about it, tho he is talking about the issue.
No senators have returned from Illinois to Wisconsin.
Thanks, yes, I agree with you—I have tuned in to Belling, looked at the website referenced and see nothing new—I think he was looking at archived stuff.
Sadly, I don’t anticipate their return until their recalls get rolling to fast.
I was wrong. The video was taped prior to the vote. It was video of the joint finance comittee. Self imposed face-plant.
Well, would have have been novel and exciting if true, but as I said in another post, I don’t anticipate any of the fleabag 14 slackers to cross the cheddar curtain until their recalls necessitate them returning to save their sorry arsses.
I don’t know if this is accurate but someone posted that the Wisconsin constitution states that elected officials are considered to have abandoned their seat if they’re absent for over 30 days.
So the scoundrels will be back in 29-however many days they have been gone. Hmmm that would figure :( Hopefully, the recalls will be well underway before then ;)
OK Bushie, now rumors are that Dem Senator Tim Cullen has returned to Wisconsin. Don’t know if that means he will be at the capitol to vote.
Thanks for this rumor—great news if true!! :)
Had tuned out media for a while—one of my children just got home from college tonite. :)
But I will be listening bright and early to WTMJ620 and WISN1130 for more details on Wednesday!
