WASHINGTON (AP) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who says he's struggled with a weight problem most of his life, thinks first lady Michelle Obama is doing well to speak in favor of healthy eating and exercise.

Her national initiative targeting childhood obesity has drawn criticism from some conservatives who see it as an example of the government trying to exert more control over people's lives.

“One word for Chris Christie: Atkins!”

...I’m with you! I’ve been on Atkins for 10 years. Lost 25 pounds in the 1st 2 months and have kept it off ever since. Triglycerides, cholesterol, blood pressure all down.

I really don’t understand the reaction to Michele Obama. She has supported healthy food and physical activity. It’s just a good idea.

She's "supported" it? Friend, leftists don't "support" ideas, they ram them down others' throats. That's how they "support" their pet agendas, and Moochelle is playing it right by the leftist book.

I’d feel better about this if he said “Like Michelle, I have a chronic weight problem.”

Sure, it is good to eat healthy food but serving whole wheat spaghetti, with cauliflower and a kiwi garnish at elementary school isn’t going to do anything but waste money and food.

That is a great menu when cooked by a chef but a school cafeteria worker? arghhhhh.

It will just make the kids that bring their lunches with Twinkies more popular.

One word for Chris Christie: Atkins! I’ve been on it for over three years now and I haven’t been this healthy since my days in the military.

Please get regular colonoscopies if over 45.

“Are you ok with the government (elected; or otherwise as is the case with Michelle Obama) regulating what you can and cannot eat?”
_____________

No, and no one has done that. Unless you want to include drug laws and age restrictions on the use of alcohol, there are no governmental restrictions on diet.

I really don’t understand the reaction to Michele Obama. She has supported healthy food and physical activity. It’s just a good idea. Just because Michele Obama agrees that it is good, doesn’t change thing and make these things bad.

The fact that she wants everyone else to do what she says, not what she does is why people take exception to her government mandated healthy eating initiative.

She preaches to everyone and then goes and eats like a lumberjack stoking up for a week.

Christie should have pointed out that while his belly is wide, he'll start worrying about it when it reaches the size of the Moochelle's arse.
LOL!

First Boner, then Barbour, now this GOP dimwit!

What a day this has been.
First bend over and spread the old cheeks on the budget,
then praise oscumbo as the greatest politician in history,
and finally (we can only hope and pray) say that advice on weight control from a classic porker is a good thing...
