So let’s be smart about this, shall we?

I would like to see Gingrich run the debate, that is why I’d like to see him running...not that he would advance to the general election.

It’s too bad he burned so many bridges with his personal behavior. (But you can be sure there are many dem operatives —acting as moles—probably even here on FR, working constantly to keep that alive to stamp any chance of his succeeding)

The opposition knows no one can shut down a debating opponent like Gingrich. No one has his encyclopedic knowledge base and rapier-like intellect.

We need to use our best weapons.

Let’s not act as dim as the dims do and think we have to have a personal lovefest with every candidate—that is infantile and akin to the Obama worship crap.

Ginther, who was Gingrich's second wife after Jackie Battley, had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis shortly before Gingrich announced that he wanted a divorce. In a similar scenario, Gingrich had discussed divorce with Battley, his former high school teacher, as she lay recovering from chemotherapy.

What a swell guy for a President!

I think at this moment in history even John Kerry would look good to a lot of Americans. Things are pretty bad right now. Some Americans are looking for other places to live such as Costa Rica while third world nations make parody videos about our free-fall... check out this short video as an example...

Nevertheless, he is one of the most articulate and impactful voices representing the hard cold logic of conservative government.

This is no small thing.

We need to figure out best way to use his voice without devouring ourselves. I am so tired of seeing this truly absurd FR sniping whenever he appears on TV, when he is usually making excellent points. Some Freepers can’t see the forest for the trees.

Who cares about his ego? Are people seriously so naive (please do not start acting like clueless, non-strategic thinking, emotionally manipulated dims) as to believe there is any soul that would seek the White House that does not have an enlarged ego? It’s called essential equipment, for good or bad. As far as I know, Jesus Christ is not available to run for president.

As to Gingrich, we don’t elect him POTUS, ok, but let’s stop treating him as enemy, he is a fantastic weapon in building the case for conservative governing.

It is stupid to divide our ranks. The dims count on this and fan the flames. (and probably are seeded among our ranks to cultivate this division—this underhandedness is the only way they can win).

Why? What is your problem pray tell? If you feel so strongly as to say “gag me with a spoon” do give a substantive reason why.

I'll field this one.

Newt Gingrich is the living symbol for political hypocrisy for your average American voter. Pushing impeachment against Clinton while, it turns out later, simultaneously cheating on his own wife... let's just say the attack ads would be horrific. And deservedly so.

He has zero crossover appeal to the left, and won't pull more than a few stragglers from the center. The right is openly divided against him. Mainly on why they dislike him more. (For being a moral sellout, or a political sellout.)

That 5% that loves Newt to this day is probably easiest found on FR OR in the leftist newsrooms and war rooms. The lefties savor the idea of Newt running, and will try and push him on us at every turn. Kind of a sacrificial McCain, .. er, Dole.. er,... lamb, against their favored candidate.

Newt is old news, with baggage that could turn him radioactive if he re-enters the public arena. He was a good fighter in his time, and there's still some good things he can do for the cause. Staying away from running for President would be one of those things.

There was a time, years ago, when I might have considered voting for him. Now? No way in hell.

Agree with you on Gingrich’s rank personal behavior but my point has been, how can we use his talent and intellect to advance our cause.

Stamping him into the ground into oblivion is pure stupidity.

We need and can use his voice.

My big beef with Newt is where was he in 2008 when he should have run for the good of the country. Instead he was too busy writing books, doing the lecture tour, analyst for Fox and making his fortune. Now he has time for us. I’ve moved on.

Newt’s always been a smart cat, and a tough fighter. If he could just stay on message and stay off the couch with Pelosi, I’m sure he could find work on the talk shows for the rest of his natural life. He’s got no future in elected office, but he could have a future as an intellectual artillery piece for the right. Contact with frontline troops in direct elections... those days are over for him.

What's the beef?

Newt singularly derailed the Conservative Revolution of the 90's w/ his self-indulgent egoism.

He was a train wreck as a leader.

He was, and is, a lightning rod of vitriol from the left, most of it entirely legimate.

He's qusai-OK as an idea guy and that's the extent of his ability.

Dear Newt,

You have disqualified yourself in my eyes as a worthy presidential contender when you pandered to the ethanol interests. There’s nothing good about burning ethanol or ethanol subsidies.

First, burning food crops drives up food costs, especially in the third world where food-price increases are provoking the overthrow of governments by starving people. Second accelerated crop production wrecks the land and consumes precious water resources. Third, there is no net energy output from ethanol production, and when you count the CO2 given off by fermentation, ethanol has double the CO2 output of just directly burning the fossil-fuel production inputs to start with.

Why, even that greedy charlatan Al Gore has finally admitted ethanol subsidies are a bad idea.

Simply put, it’s just one more “green” scam and “green” vote-buying scheme subsidized by deficit spending that further debases our currency. No real conservative will ever endorse ethanol subsidies. If ethanol is an economic energy source, then it would stand on it own; if not, then it’s nothing more than an additional drain on our resources.

Surely you are smart enough and well educated enough to already know and understand the above. That therefore means your pandering is deliberate and mendacious. It means you are not a principled conservative. It means you are not fit to run under the banner of a principled conservative. It means you have no courage because you’re willing to pander to get elected, rather than tell the truth and risk not being elected. It means you are not fit to be President.

He is a formidable intellect, for starters. He is in agreement with the for most intellectual scientist in the world on Global Warming, which should be a huge clue on his globalist ties.

I have listened to him for years and admire his knowledge of history, it just doesn’t follow that he uses that knowledge to come to conservative solutions to the troubles of the Republic.

Oh yeah, he and Nancy make cute portraits. I distrust any republican that has great friends among the party that is absolutely committed to establishing Communisim as the ruling party in the USA.

Well, I guess this means I will continue to get the donation requesting emails from American Solutions from which I cannot get myself unsubscribed, different issue every other day, no followthrough. Remember Drill here, drill now, pay less? Long gone even though it should still be front and center.

Well, let us count the ways...

Newt’s support for the leftist RINO in the NY congressional race.... Newt’s pandering to farmers in Iowa about ethanol... and as for the baggage, since when is adultery not a big deal? Anyone who would violate an oath taken before God and witnesses and lie to his spouse, will lie to anyone for any reason.

Go away, Newt.

Actually this may not be a bad think. The more of these weasly RINOs we can have splitting the establishment vote the better the odds of a conservative taking the nomination.

As a little “r” republican if Newt was to be the Big “R’s” choice I would have no problem at all pulling the lever for him.

And...he has been touting Allen West as a VP candidate which sounds like he, at the least, believes West has a big future in store -—

With Allen West on board; would vote for this duo in a heartbeat.

Marco Rubio, Herman Caine. ..would love for John Bolton to be advisor to someone here.

No; his life is not perfect; but no one's is. . .and America is in deep trouble. If Trump with his 'Sarkozy'-like partner can even consider this; certainly Newt can.

Truth is, we have some great Conservative Repubs - some not named here - to choose from.

Just hope, Conservative wins. No question, RNC has different idea.
