Moody Blues, another great group; did you ever see their live reunion concert from Red Rock, Colorado, on PBS, about 1991?

"Days of Future Passed" was the first concept album of the era, preceding "Sergeant Pepper" by 4 months. The group had added Justin Hayward, who redefined their sound, when Denny Laine left. Laine went on to fame with Wings.

Their producer Tony Clarke teamed them up with the London Festival Orchestra, which was England's version of the Boston Pops. The transitions from Moody Blues song to orchestral interludes were pretty weak, particularly when heard on a high quality sound system. This song's transition isn't bad and leads directly into "Evening Time" with its rather sinister-sounding accompaniment.

The best transition was "Nights in White Satin" where the orchestra is brought in as backup to the singers before it takes over completely.
