Looking at population projections for Texas, demographer Steve Murdock concludes: "It's basically over for Anglos."
Two of every three Texas children are now non-Anglo and the trend line will become even more pronounced in the future, said Murdock, former U.S. Census Bureau director and now director of the Hobby Center for the Study of Texas at Rice University.
Today's Texas population can be divided into two groups, he said. One is an old and aging Anglo and the other is young and minority. Between 2000 and 2040, the state's public school enrollment will see a 15 percent decline in Anglo children while Hispanic children will make up a 213 percent increase, he said.
The state's largest county - Harris - will shed Anglos throughout the coming decades. By 2040, Harris County will have about 516, 000 fewer Anglos than lived in the Houston area in 2000, while the number of Hispanics will increase by 2.5 million during the same period, Murdock said. The projection assumes a net migration rate equal to one-half of 1990-2000.
Most of the state's population growth is natural, Murdock told the House Mexican American Legislative Caucus today. About 22 percent of the growth comes from people moving to Texas from other states.
About 6 percent of the state's population is not documented, he said.
By 2040, only 20 percent of the state's public school enrollment will be Anglo, he said. Last year, non-Hispanic white children made up 33.3 percent of the state's 4.8 million public school enrollment...
The state's future looks bleak assuming the current trend line does not change because education and income levels for Hispanics lag considerably behind Anglos, he said....

If we have the will, and we are in the right, then we can see things happen. Operation Paperclip is within living memory. Operation Paperclip II, 2012 sounds like something to work for.

I’m not sure what you’re getting at here. There have been people of Spanish ancestry in Texas since before it became a republic and then become a state. Not everyone called Anglo is of Anglo-Saxon British ancestry - I’m just reading it as English-speaking American who would be listed as ‘white of non-Hispanic origin’ on census forms. Going forth and multiplying isn’t any one ethnic group’s particular intellectual property.
The “Quiverfull” movement is based in the San Antonio area. I know white, Protestant families there with 18 children. However, there just aren’t enough Anglo large families to make up for an average (among Hispanics in my church in NC) of about 4.5 children per family.
However, as someone up the thread observed, ethnicity is less important than culture. Conservatives of any color or language should have more children (and homeschool them or start schools) and leftists of types belong on the Darwinian ash-heap.

Sure they are. If they're ethnically Mexican males, for instance, and they see a Mexican female with a white guy, they go apes**t. Been there done that. The enforcers can and will come after such "vendidas" and make sure she comes back into the fold.
But getting the "blondina gringa" is considered a conquest because it shows the manliness of the Grande Hombre, and the weakness of the gringos ("I got your woman, whitey!"). So there's no stigma attached - on the contrary, showing off the Prize is considered a big deal.
White kids are propagandized, bullied and lectured about the evils of their race mercilessly in modern American schools. Even though their ancestors created the most successful nation in human history, they are made to feel ashamed and deracinated. One of the Acts of Penance which Liberals teach they must do is to outmarry from their group: show that you're inclusive, and make sure there will not be any white children from your marriage.
The official word for such a practice is genocide...because it literally wipes out a genetic line.
But that's all it is. It's not an "enlightened generation", it's a beaten generation.

I’m not making this a racial thing, so I’m going to leave it there. Anglos, however defined - and I think Scots would be included in the demographer’s use of the term, probably even Lapps/Sami, have as much right to assert themselves in Texas as anyone else, including Hispanics with American citizenship. Illegal aliens don’t, whether they’re Hispanics in Texas or French Canadians in New England. That’s basically all I was saying.
Things change, and are seldom on a linear progression.
For example, when a nation reaches an economic plateau, a standard of living, unique to that nation, suddenly their birth rate drop to just sustainability. Most recently, this phenomenon has happened in Mexico, where their birth rate has plummeted from 4-8 children per family, to just 1-3. Technically, a birthrate averaging 2.3 children per family.
This means the demographic spigot flowing to the US is being turned off. With a stable population, any economic growth in Mexico will have to result in increased wages, as there will no longer be an abundance of cheap labor. Employers will have to compete for workers.
In turn, this means that Mexican workers living in the US will have some motivation to return home, especially when faced with a much more difficult work environment in the US.
So how will this affect the demographics of Texas, now the US’s second most populous State? (After CA but ahead of NY).
Illegal immigrants account for more than one-third of the foreign-born population in Texas and 5.4% of the total state. With Republican ascendancy in the US, it is likely that a lot of those illegals will be leaving. But otherwise Texas is prosperous, which has an attraction to other Americans to move to Texas.
Add to that the vast majority of Mexican-Americans fully integrate into the US, losing whatever affiliation they had with Mexico, and there is little or no bias against miscegenation between Mexicans and whites. Children of such couples can freely move in either society, where language and culture matter more than appearance.
All told, Texas will likely remain Texas.
I know several mixed Hispanic/Anglo families and I’ve never seen any overt racism except on the part of black government employees against Hispanic females. From what I’ve seen no one gives much thought to white and Hispanic dating and marriage.
White and black mixed couples are treated much differently.
the worse it becomes in Europe, the more WASPS and Catholics will flee to America, thus disrupting the trends that rabblerousers love to predict.
Then it’s basically over for America.
A lot still depends on whether a comprehensive amnesty is passed. It is estimated that 1/3 of the Hispanics in the US are here illegally, and that includes the census figures for Hispanics since no citizenship questions are asked.
All these demographic projections are based upon Hispanic population numbers which include the illegals. Don’t pass amnesty and finally enforce our immigration laws and a great deal changes.
