Obama celebrates the Motown Sound

Today, instead of warning another country, he praised Algeria for lifting its state of emergency decree that's been in effect since Obama was in law school somewhere.
The Illinois Democrat has been chided recently for becoming something of a tardy diplomatic scold, warning many countries and foreign leaders but leaving Iran-bashing to underlings. So, Obama took the occasion Thursday to make a considerably longer statement celebrating the Motown Sound and Black History Month at another star-studded White House music party. (See complete texts of both statements below.)

My daughter is starting to look into colleges. She's on mailing lists, and receives a lot of brochures every day. Her focus is on small, academically challenging schools which are well outside urban areas. Guess what? Almost every such college brochure comes with a cover featuring a studious negro under a tree, in a dorm, outside the library -- somewhere, anywhere. The important thing is: we accept black students here.
It's the 21st century. We know black people are allowed to attend schools just like everyone else. It's not a big deal. There is nothing interesting or surprsing about this. They don't have to shout it at me constantly. It's just weird.

If you go to Webster’s Dictionary and look up ‘asshole’ you will see Obama’s picture.

With all the trash that visits the white house every day I am sure they will have to steam the whole place to get rid of the bedbugs and fleas and call in an exterminator to get rid of the rats left behind..

Pathetic.
The most difficult part for me is watching people continue to support and defend his reprehensible actions. I’ve lost all respect for any friends or family that have ever supported him. They’re complicit in the tearing down of this once great country. They aided and abetted an enemy, albeit domestic, in his plan to damage this country.

"I want to start by thanking our performers here tonight: Natasha Bedingfield, Sheryl Crow, Jamie Foxx, Gloriana, Nick Jonas, Ledisi, John Legend, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, Seal, Jordin Sparks, Smokey Robinson "Blacks everywhere are rolling their eyes. Obviously, Obama's white half must have set the entertainment line up.

“...small, academically challenging schools...”
Does she like to read? A whole lot? Does she want to specialize early or leave that for an advanced degree? Have you heard of St. John’s in Annapolis? Very small school. Sister campus in Santa Fe, I believe. Either location, same program.
They don’t play the PC game or the ranking game. The educational values are very conservative, to say the least. Not politically conservative, mind you. Academically conservative. And challenging. And expensive. And the profs (except they call them tutors) are totally focused on the undergrad experience.

MOTOWN is really a state of mind but when it comes to the real MOTOWN we would need:
The Four Tops
Marvin Gaye
The Isley Brothers
Chuck Jackson
Gladys Knight
Martha and the Vandellas
The Marvelettes
The Supremes
The Temptations
Mary Wells
The Commodores
Michael Jackson
The Pointer Sisters
and quite a few others..
