This is a great move forward for freedom and liberty. Unions are evil.

So, the Senate still must pass the bill, right?

This was just the Assembly. It has to go to the Senate and then on to the Gov. But the way it passed was awesome! I’m looking for video...

Since it’s non-budget, the Senate doesn’t need the quorum. The rats can stay skedaddled.

Where did you get this info? All I see on Fox News and other cable news stations are reruns and commercials...

Great news, though! :-)

No video but an explanation. They may be voting on the bill later today. 38 more amendments at 10 minutes apiece.

Just saw the 2:30 am ET breaking news update on Fox News... the Wisconsin Assembly did indeed pass Gov. Walker's bill! WOO HOO!!!

A video clip showed a highly animated body of legislators in the Wisconsin Assembly... red-shirted democRATs on the right of the screen. There was no sound to the clip, but it looked like a huge fight was going on, lots of arms flailing around. Wish I could be a fly on that wall tonight! ;-)

I hope it’s a win. I hope it’s not a tactical loss, though. The reason I say that is because I wonder if the bill passing in the Assembly thus forecloses the Senate’s ability to separate out the collective bargaining component as a stand-alone non-budgetary item or amendment to another bill. I’m not saying it does, but it seems like it might. It would take a WI parliamentary nerd to know if that’s the case. I hope it isn’t.

I was hoping the senate would separate the collective bargaining component and pass it, explaining that it was the only alternative to heavy layoffs.

If anyone knows, I’d sure appreciate the information.
