ROCK HILL, S.C. As Sarah Palin wonders whether to run for president, she might want to talk to people in places such as South Carolina.
She'd find her star fading, and her prospects daunting.
Republicans still like her, but now they openly question whether she could or should be nominated for president, let alone elected.
At a recent gathering in South Carolina, the site of a crucial early presidential primary next year, party activists said the former Alaska governor didn't have the experience, the knowledge of issues or the ability to get beyond folksy slang and bumper-sticker generalities that they think is needed to win and govern.
Many are shopping for someone else. They're looking at Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., for example, and seeing what they call a smarter, more experienced candidate who's equally as conservative.
"Sarah Palin with a brain," said Gail Moore, a Republican from Columbia.

Palin/Bachmann.. Ingraham or Malkin as Sec. of State.. Coulter as Attorney General..
Do ya think Bachmann could get something passed in congress, just once in a while...
They want to bring Unions to the South; this is part of the reason they want the democraptic pResidential primary there. They are gonna attack the South in any way they can...bring the primary, bring temporary $, make promises, sign up ignorant postal workers soon to be out of work to “other” government positions-—IF they are the “correct” hue, and bring the union goons to recruit, too.
I like Bachmann, but Palin has been Mayor and Governor of a state.....AND, “they” hate her. Their hating her makes me love her even more.
If Palin announces shes running its going to be a massive political earthquake. The rest of the field are going to melt away. Just watch.

Exactly!
But don’t worry, Pissant will be feverishly looking for a negative AP story about Palin.
“She will also begin to speak differently. Presently she speaks as a political commentator and critic, which is no surprise because thats her job at Fox. Well start hearing campaign promises that actually make sense.”
Well said. And watch her shatter the false meme of her “stupidity”.
With all due respect to pissant this post and similar articles feel a little like Hitler’s desperate gamble in the Ardennes, late 1944.
And if she doesn't?
C’mon pissant. Should Obama run again or not................
Bachman doesn’t have that star quality, quite. With luck, though, she may be speaker one day.
Which begs the question, Doesn't one have to have surged before they can resurge???
I say let her run. Let the voters decide. I don’t think she has a chance after all the media hit pieces. Hell even conservatives repeat liberal lies the left has told, believing they are true. But she may surprise some people.
Note* These Palin haters on FR don’t like Michele Bachmann for the most part.....they’re just use her as a name against Sarah. Someone showed that most of them never said anything about Bachmann much until just recently and it seemed that all of them started to talk favorably about Michele around the same time.
He earned it.....
*appologies to old Smith-Barney ad*
“And if she doesn’t?”
If she doesn’t run then we’ll have to see who else is running I guess. Bachmann and Cain I like as well.
One other possibility about Palin in SC....Palin was the earliest and most prominent supporter of Nikki Haley in SC. And we all saw how well Gov. Haley was treated during both the primary and, most baffling, even during the campaign by the good ol’ boys in the SC GOP. Palin might not be the preferred prez candidate of these GOBs.
He's no conservative, he just trolls around making sure conservative ideas can't get anywhere. It's kind of pathetic.
