With each bill, newly elected tea party lawmakers are offering Montanans a vision of the future.

Their state would be a place where officials can ignore U.S. laws, force FBI agents to get a sheriff's OK before arresting anyone, ban abortions, limit sex education in schools and create armed citizen militias.

It's the tea party world. But not everyone is buying their vision.

Some residents, Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer and even some Republican lawmakers say the bills are making Montana into a laughingstock. And, they say, the push to nullify federal laws could be dangerous.

We're supposed to be horrified about this because they're talking about the TEA party and not the president.

As I understand, here in Nevada, no Federal agent can even talk to me without a Sheriff’s representative with them. They surely cannot just come onto my property here—& they must have a warrant if they wish to come inside my fence lines. The sheriff’s deputy must accompany them to come after me for anything.

That’s what I was told when I moved here.

My thoughts as well - “a river runs through it” which dumps into the sewers of Hollywood.

There would be no need to ignore laws that were objective and rational.

That’s the stuff of urban legend. I lived in Nevada in the early 1980’s and no such law existed then.

Truly free people are scary people. They are apt to think for themselves, speak without fear and act in accordance with what’s right. Truly free people succeed and fail, help and hinder, act or refuse to act in accordance with their own consciences. Truly fee people are not easily cowed or panicked and are unpredictable. Truly free people choose what they want to believe, form their own preferred associations and face the consequences of their actions squarely. A truly free people is feared by tyrants and by wicked busy-bodies intent on subverting all to feed their own perceived self-interests. Truly free people allow others freedom without fear and act to curtail freedom only by promising (and delivering) consequences for wicked acts that are punishing enough to deter the weaker among them from committing those acts. Truly free people cooperate and do not coerce.

Truly free people are becoming hard to find. It is dangerous to be truly free for the unfree, the tyrants and their toadies and sycophants will always strive to impugn, malign and ultimately destroy the truly free. The truly free submit willingly to what is Right and Good and Wise and refuse to submit to evil and folly. This means they are a threat to the wicked and must be suppressed or destroyed.

“That’s the stuff of urban legend. I lived in Nevada in the early 1980’s and no such law existed then.”

Considering that the FBI thinks it’s okay to barbecue women, children and babies at Waco, a sheriff declaring the FBI a public menace that needs an armed escort is not extreme and well within the sheriff’s purview to protect public safety in the county.

In fact, every constitutional sheriff should be required to muster a 2,000 man auxiliary deputy force for “emergencies.”

I am hoping that constant snowfall with temperatures in the minus 15 to minus 20 range will help get the california libtards out of here. Helena is to get minus 18 tonight and minus 21 tomorrow night. These are thermometer readings, not windchill

“MT needs to get the caterwauling libtards to move back to California.”

A big 10-4 on that! They come up there to take advantage of the wide open spaces, beautiful scenery and freer life style, then IMMEDIATELY start lobbying to make it disfunctional just like the cesspool they left in CA!! Everytime I visit, the locals look at my vehicle tag and view me with suspicion until they hear my Southern accent and understand I’m certainly NOT an actual californican!!
