CINCINNATI - They are some of the most exotic and distant destinations on Earth. China, Israel, Ukraine and Japan just to name a few. And they are all places that Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory has traveled to since being elected.
But in these difficult financial times for the city, how does he justify continuing to often take these trips on the taxpayers' tab? And just how many places has he visited?
9 News Anchor Lance Barry is on your side with the answers.
Since Mallory took office in December of 2005, he has taken more than 60 trips, almost a dozen international. And he's not apologizing for any of them. He feels his job of mayor goes far beyond City Hall, choosing to serve additionally as Cincinnati's global ambassador.
On the corner of Mallory's desk sits a fittingly titled organizer labeled "incoming" and "outgoing". Fitting for a mayor that is seen by some as outgoing far too much from the city he represents.

He is probably approaching Pelosi’s travel expenses on our dime.
Let me guess...a democrat. No where in the article did it mention political affiliation. Granted, it was a local article and perhaps everyone already knew his affiliation.
Why does Cincinnati need a global ambassador? Isn’t that supposed to be the purview of the State Department?
Yep, he’s a ‘Rat...a big one.
From Wiki: Mark Mallory (born April 2, 1962) is an American politician of the Democratic Party who is currently serving as the mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is Cincinnati’s fourth black mayor and the first black mayor to have been directly elected.
Exactly. Imagine if every city's mayor traveled the world on taxpayers' dimes to be "ambassadors" for their city. Yeah, that's the ticket, be an ambassador, cough, cough.
Gee...a black Democrat politician spending taxpayer money like water for his own amusement. Seems IMPOSSIBLE, doesn’t it!!!
Here’s the City of Cincinnati’s ambassador in action . . . throwing out the opening day pitch at a Reds game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5guZucY1WM
I’m glad you posted that. Saved me the trouble. Can you imagine watching a baseball game where the opposing pitchers were Mallory and B.O.?
He got his seat from his daddy. Sounds like John Conyers of Michigan to me.
Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. See U. S. history 1870 to 1880.

Mallory is like a Junior Obama - all he does is travel in style and luxury on the taxpayers dime. In this case, the residents and businesses of Cincinnati.
