Good. Don’t come back.
Ho-kay, what provision does IN have for recall elections of state legislators?
Soooo stupid. The Dems run away so the Repubs capitulate.
Might fold, might not. The damage has happened so the Republican freshmen might as well make the maximum of the situation. Is this like WI in which there’s still enough to pass other business?
But if IN was planning to invite tax-shy Illinoisans, they have just shot their credibility in the foot.
Maybe they just won’t come back. Why should they. They don’t want any Republican bills passed and this tactic worked for them the first time. Governor Daniels has proven himself a cowardly pansy. They will walk all over him and the GOP majority from here on out.
Republicans demonstrating how to surrender like a French regiment.
History will frown on them.
The chief chicken, Mitch Daniels, was on TV blubbering that conservatives just don’t understand how hard it is to deal with Democrats. What a tiny wuss he turned out to be.
Isn’t it amazing how the Republicans let the Rats run the legislature even when the Rats are the minority?
He has the majority in their congress so he should do what the Rats would do, cram legislation through, even if the Rats run away.
The Rats aren’t even in town.
Avik Roy has a good post on the NRO Corner (Feb 23 at 10:59 am) putting Daniels and Indiana into context.
It’s a good defense but ignores that once you cave to a RAT, they’ll demand more.
On another thread I posted that Daniels was toast and a coward. I’m walking some of that back now.
The collective GOP might have made a mistake in Indiana but it still doesn’t excuse the RATS whom, I believe, would have done this no matter what since their strings are obviously being pulled from above.
Oh hell NO!
This is out of hand...way, way out of hand!
What is their parliamentary procedure? I’m sure it is not this.
It’s amazingly crazy when the rats are in another state and can’t vote on anything.
Taxpayer paid vacation and no work duties. Typical leftists.
Wake up taxpayers!
I'm starting to think that maybe having a Speaker of the House who bursts into tears so easily wasn't such a good idea...
We do not need more republican pussies. Seriously. Not when they actually have the majority. So what, let the dems rot away. Go on with other business you can do with the democrats gone.
Words have meaning and are terms loaded with connotations that influence perception. Pro-life is a much more accurate description than anti-choice, with an emphasizing the positive attribute.
The NABET, IBEW, CWA, AFTRA and SAG members at CBS and other networks carefully choose their words to convey their radical Socialist agenda to a not-always discerning public.
In reality, we patriots who support RIGHT TO WORK ought to adopt a positive term that more aptly describes our philosophy. I'll toss out pro-employee freedom as one possibility. It's a bit wordy so I hope other FReeper colleagues can turn a better phrase that expresses the positive value of RIGHT TO WORK.
...as will businesses.
