First the attack on Planned Parenthood funding and now this: Republican State Rep. Bobby Franklin of Georgia introduced a bill in his state last week that, if enacted, would require proof that a miscarriage occurred naturally. If a woman cant prove that her miscarriageor spontaneous abortionoccurred without intervention, she could face felony charges.

Big government BS, this time from the “right”.
It is part of proposed bill submitted by him to make abortion illegal in Georgia by defining it as murder and by claiming Roe v Wade does not apply to Georgia state law. It is Georgia HB 1.
The government intrudes in parents’ abuse and murder of their children on a rather regular basis. This just changes the age scale of when that intrusion would apply.
Defunding PP what’s not to like?
I think Bobby is getting a little carried away. Memo to Bobby Franklin: Its perfectly legal to get an abortion in the state of GA. You don’t have to try to disguise it as a miscarriage.
There are legitimate meds that can cause abortion. If a woman does not know she is pregnant, especially if she isn’t trying to get pregnant, and takes these meds for legitimate purposes how can she prove that she didn’t do it on purpose? I know the possibility is quite small, but it could happen. The poor woman will be anguishing already over losing a child, and then have to defend herself against murder.
Are mensuration cycles also required to be registered to the State government? After all, mensuration is about discharge of discarded eggs, or potential babies, however you decide to take a look at.
Defunding PP whats not to like?
De-funding PP and getting rid of abortions? Good.
On the other hand, making people prove miscarriage was "natural" is beyond the pale. Once this "abortion" of a bill passes then what does the Government do? Send a uneducated, leftist Social Service bimbo to your door and demand you provide evidence the miscarriage was "natural?"
Since there has NEVER been a time when governments have not expanded laws to harass citizens then it would only be time before some Government twit demands all of the woman's medical records to ensure she supposedly got the "proper" medical care and if she does not, according to the whim of a Government idiot, what will they do? Jail her? Fine her? Prosecute her for murder?
Government and the legal system spend too much time and give all of us grief by using hindsight (it's 20/20 you know) to second guess a myriad of things mainly to keep citizens on their heels and subservient to Government.
This miscarriage language must be stripped from the bill or a new bill written without the language. Letting any level of government have this kind of power is wrong as it will ALWAYS be used for no good.
One man filed a bill last fall. As far as I can see at the Georgia site, there’s been no action on the bill.

I agree and due to HPPA not likely to happen.
I don’t care how pro-life he thinks he is, someone needs to show Bobby Franklin the back of the woodshed and quick. Do morons like this purposely play into stereotypes? They must, because I can’t believe anyone would be so damned stupid.
Probably not a real story. Just because PP is not funded does not mean women can’t get abortions in Georgia.
I'm, with you. I'd rather see it from a reputable source, with context. This is way beyond the reasonable scope of government oversight.
“Potential.” whereas an embryo is already a human being, a complete, functioning, organized organism that is functioning as a member of our species should function at that age. And we *are* the only species having this conversation. (no matter how wrong headed Franklin’s contribution to the conversation)
Nevertheless, there’s no merit to his quest to register all fetal deaths. For that matter, there’s no merit in his attempt to redefine embryos as “fetuses.”
“Nevertheless, theres no merit to his quest to register all fetal deaths.”
Well, the argument would be that if “fetuses” are recognized as human beings, then their deaths, regardless of whether it occurred inside wombs or outside in parking lots, should be registered.
Wow! 13 posts before someone defends the child.
This is the same putz that submitted a bill that requires rape victims to be referred to as accusers and not victims.
Don't you believe the fetus is a person?
Hey Troll, how does it feel to be living under that bridge?
“Big government BS, this time from the right.”
There is no right and left anymore, at least as far as the Dems and GOP are concerned.
It’s just big gov’t or small gov’t advocates. There is no other distinction.
Reading the link, despite its virulent baby murdering slant. If such a bill was introduced(they did not give any link or bill number), it seems a reasonable attempt to stop the shoot, shovel, and shut up mentality of the pro-baby murdering scum in this country.
