As Wisconsins public union protesters make national headlines, Herb Kohl, the Badger States long-serving Democratic senator, has kept a low profile. Prominent Wisconsin Democrats such as former Sen. Russ Feingold have been vocal in their support of the protests, while Kohl, who is up for re-election in 2012, shied away from taking a visible role. Public workers deserve fair treatment and their interests should be taken into consideration as these issues are resolved, Kohl said in a short, non-committal statement released by his office on Thursday. Im concerned about the well-being of their families and hope these matters can be settled in a respectful and balanced way. A recent poll showed Kohl earning less than 50 percent of the vote against some Wisconsin Republicans.

Early on, Russ Feingold rushed in to grab the spotlight, but I notice he ran away as fast as he arrived. He must have realized what a stinker this thing is turning out to be.
I don’t think Herb wants to touch this with a ten-foot pole. Any comment would harm his election campaign. Of all the folks there...he’s the one who ought to be in Illinois at the fancy resort, and not these other guys.
>> Herb Kohl, the Badger States long-serving Democratic senator, has kept a low profile.
WHY??????
>> Kohl, who is up for re-election in 2012
OH!!!!!!!
More ‘rat “Profiles In Courage”.
Like all invertebrates, The Dairy Queen keeps a low profile
But didn’t a poll come out earlier today showing this to be a winning issue for the Dems?
Oh wait; you don’t mean to tell me it was a worthless poll rigged by a pro-Dem outfit that not even the Dems believe. Who’d a thunk.
Seriously, their own polls must be painting this toxic. It is the tar baby that will ruin anyone who touches it. What a shame. /s
The only thing Khol is concerned about is his own re-election.
It tells us where Khol thinks the Polls are on this disgrace.
Discretion is the better part of valor.
this POS from WI should resign immediately. It is so sad this guy owns the Milwaukee Bucks, the team should change its name to Milwaukee Sucks. because milwaukee sucks everything up in Wi. Yes,the district he represents this year again will put to much effluent (fecal matter) into Lake Michigan - raw sewage from the combined rainwater/sewage deep tunnels. Thanks Herb Kohl for contributing to more of the crap floating up on the beaches again this spring.
LOLOLOL! Herb Kohl has ducked visibility on ANY issue ever since he’s been in DC. He waits until it is completely safe for him (i.e. everyone has already voted) before he takes a stand.
I was going to say...I’ve never heard of him. I thought he was a State Senator!
Kohl will be 77 in 2012.
Perhaps he should retire and spend more time with his Bucks.

Doesn’t Kohl own businesses that are non-union?
With Kohl being up for reelection in 2012 he’s awaiting more polling data and focus groups. It could be too that he senses this a losing issue for Democrats.
I'll never know--I turned the channel right quick.

Thanks for the great laugh. I’ve always felt that way about “Rusty Pants” myself.
Kohl is a US Senator from Wisconsin. You’ve never heard of him because he never says anything. He’s rich as ??? and owns the Milwaukee Bucks. (Basketball team) His family owned Kohl’s Dept stores and Kohl’s food chain (now defunct) but he’s been out of those businesses for years.
You may have seen him on one of the Senate committees where he would ask a question from a paper that a staffer handed him and have no follow up. He’s an embarrassment in more ways than one.
