I want to know why any of the pirates who were part of this hijacking are still alive. As I understand the Rules of the Sea, our Navy had every right to kill them all.

Would you order a sailor under your command to execute prisoners without a trial?

....interesting point....the British admiralty who had a lot of experiance in this sort of thing, used to bring pirates back to London....there they would be tried and hung by the harbor....and left hanging, so that others might learn from the example.

I would hold a trial at sea. I would allow each prisoner to speak if he were able. You really don't need much more evidence than that they were part of a group that murdered others at sea to further their own financial gain.

After the evidence was presented, I would execute without hesitation those I believed guilty. I would do it myself unless someone under my command demanded the honor.
