"Nevadans from all walks of life gathered Monday morning to protest among other issues, the governor's proposed cuts to state workers.

Roughly 500 protestors from Planned Parenthood, the Douglas County Republican Central Committee and various labor unions all combined their efforts to rally outside the state's capitol".

KEYWORDS: budget; governor; protes; unions
Yesterday Douglas County Republican Central Committee (DCRCC) members staged a counter protest to the unions efforts to scuttle the necessary correction to our state budget.

KTVN is reporting that they were there to SUPPORT the unions!

I called to correct them, they claimed to not know what I was talking about. You can see their incorrect statement at the link.

One call will not get a retraction, and it will not get an on-air correction. Perhaps if a few freepers also call, fax, etc., they will have to publicly air a correction and apology.

This same station—CBS affiliate— gets my personal awards for a great number of spelling errors on their ‘crawl’ under the video of their ‘news readers’.

The best one is ‘’SUNNYY”” for a forecast for the day.

I call them constantly along with Channel 8-—ABC affiliate.

I don’t know what they pay for the persons who prepare those ‘crawls’ but it proving to be a job that needs more testing before they hire anyone.

UPDATE, KTVN’s news director informed us that the story will be pulled from their website and they would broadcast a retraction today.

DCRCC made calls objecting to the so very wrong content, no way of knowing who else did so.

Really?

How is it not, a request for help to force an either incompetent or biased news agency to correct their story is not activism?

Letting people know that a local news organization mischaracterized our counter rally is not activism or an announcement?

Guess I need to see your definitions.

We want to take the time to correct an error from Monday night’s 11pm newscast.

At that time we said the Douglas County Republican Central Committee attended a rally in Carson City on Monday, February 21st to protest budget cuts proposed by Governor Brian Sandoval.

The group was in fact there to show support for the Governor’s efforts to balance the budget.

We apologize for the error.
