Obama Plans to Nationalize Wireless Internet

In what amounts to the next initiative undertaken by the Obama Administration towards its ever-expanding program of government expansion and nationalization of various aspects of the lives of the American people (such as the government takeover of health care, intervention in banks, and the nationalization of various automobile companies, such as General Motors), the federal government is now embarking upon a program of government-directed wireless internet (Wi-Fi) delivery.

If true this is extremely dangerous. The government will offer wireless internet for free thus eliminating the need for competitors to offer internet services. Once that is in place it will have a monopoly and the state can filter content like they do in China and ensure you get the "right information". He is ignoring congress and the courts and acting more like a dictator.

Oh yeah, I got a trial subscription but did away with it before the credit card got billed.

It is G4 and drops you often, problem is that it does not recover, you have to re-set the router/radio.
Speed tests are very good, but if is not reliable, what good does it do?

The sales guy was really hesitant to talk about how they got the funding, then I found out why.

The federal government currently has $-14,123,589,307,190.53 (note particularly the negative sign) and thus insufficient (non-positive) resources to spend on this or any other initiative. The current Administration moreover desires to make electricity so expensive and erratic that only the elites can get only a little of it only some of the time at great expense beyond ever more exorbitant taxes (also imposed on the working poor). So, I’m not sure how the federal government can afford to operate a nationwide wi-fi service or whether they would do so competently and efficiently or whether anyone could afford the electricity to run any device that uses it.

If this scheme does go through, we’ll end up with a postal
service that is more reliable and user friendly than internet service. And I’m not forseeing any improvements in
the postal service!

Not gonna happen! With his approval ratings going down and the change in public opinion about Public Employee Unions, even Democrats in Congress and the Senate will vote against this. And if he tries it by using a power grab by administrative action (like net neutrality and CO2 limits) he will not get the money and will possibly start the ball rolling on impeachment of his Cabinet Secretaries or even himself.
