Activists demand change in peaceful Jordan protest

Meanwhile, the much larger group of anti-government protesters, including a mix of independent activists marching alongside leftists, Baathists, Islamists and youth activists, made it clear the time for change is now...

...The Islamic Action Front (IAF), the political arm of the Jordan branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, participated in Friday's demonstration after steering clear of the downtown marches for two weeks in order to give the new government of Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit time to carry out reforms.

What's not to love.

Check this out, from Jordan....

Opposition parties demand withdrawing electoral law from parliament

The opposition parties also called for expediting presenting referring the Public Assembly law to the Lower House of Parliament for amendment, reconsidering the political parties' law, forming a professional association for teachers, and combating the grave phenomenon of corruption.

The opposition parties that signed on the statement include the Jordanian Socialist Baath Party, the Progressive Party, Islamic Action Front (IAF), Democratic National Movement, Democratic 'Hashd' People's party, the Jordanian Communist Party, and the Jordanian Populist Democratic Party (Wehda).

This story has some interesting tid bits in it. Unfortunately, we can't post any excerpts from the Independent here.

Thanks! Interesting read!

Now I have a question: Is Fisk actually in Libya, or is he just reporting on it? Just curious :)

It looks like Fisk actually got into Tripoli on a flight and managed to take a quick trip into the city before the return. Obviously he didn't get in with his press credentials.

I should have pinged all four and more to #1068 also. My apology if I missed anyone. The word ALL sometimes does not express what needs saying. I have learned much on this thread and past thread. This forum (gathering) gives me hope. I left out one name (nick) on purpose. I pray this person will not be offended. Thanking Everyone Again.

YW NTI, it’s a lot to absorb. FR is a great place to bounce this information around.
