President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle have not been invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
The Queen personally invited 40 heads of state, who received the gold-embossed invitations over the weekend to the April 29 wedding of the future king.
The Obamas, however, were not among them.
But they can take solace in the knowledge that they will be the guests of their very own state visit to the UK in May.
There have been suggestions that the state visit – the first for a US President since 2003 – was set up in return for Obama not coming to the wedding because of the added security costs involved with protecting the President.
French Prime Minister Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni will also miss out and Prince Andrew’s former wife, Sarah Ferguson – the Duchess of York – has also been snubbed.
Leaders from Commonwealth counties, including Australia, Canada and New Zealand have been invited along with Kings and Queens across Europe, including Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Greece.

The young groom and bride probably already have a DVD of Obama’s speeches already and the white house gift shop is out of inventory.
On decorum, did Obama even get a thank you note for returning the bust of Winston Churchill?
It is rumoured that the Queen still has bruising from being felt up by Michelle during the last encounter. ;-)
The cool thing is most of us feel proud of the Queen - how she has, with grace - snubbed the Obamas’ for their cheap gifts and general rudeness. She has standards - that’s a good thing.
Gee do you think she may have thought it a bit tacky to get an iPod with hs speeches loaded nto it? Or perhaps hving Moochelle slap her on the back when one is not supposed to touch the Queen?I’m glad they are not going I can only imagine the get up Moochelle would pick for this event.

Queen Elizabeth was doing Obama and Michelle a favor. It would take months of etiquette instruction to ensure that the Obamas would act appropriately and not embarrass themselves.
Imagine if Michelle, once again, put her arm around the queen and slapped her on her back.
I would not want those two grifters within 10 miles of me.
It is no rumor...Queen Elizabeth told her staff to NEVER allow that woman [moochelle] in the same room with her again.

Yeah, remember his trip to India and all that was involved in getting him there and back?
Maybe they could send a gift...some dvd’s or an ipod or somthing.
