fireworks to follow
And somebody may be watching them through a periscope when they enter the Red Sea.
I think that Mamood Imadickwad WANTS Israels to attack those ships so that it would provide some distractction from the
protests.
Imadickwad wants Israel to be a bigger enemy to the Iranian people than he is. He should be worried. If the protests
really get rolling, the Revolutionary Guard might give him to the people to placate them.
I hope that Israel maintains a constant CAP, over those ships, with F-15s carrying Harpoons or Exocets or whatever they use.
And with a constant radar lock tone that the Iranians can hear.
navyblue, patriot, I assume you’re hoping Israel does something. We KNOW islamabama won’t do anything.
The technical naval term for this maneuver, if it happens, is “breakout”. These warships are trying to pull the same thing that the Bismark and Prinz Eugen tried during WWII when they tried to break out into the Atlantic.
If this breakout occurs, and “if” is a very big word, then there are any number of people who will be watching that will not consider it a peaceful thing to do. If these warships approach the Israeli coast then all bets are off.
Worth watching closely.
What about if they cast a glace towards the USS Enterprise task group recently transiting the canal in the other direction?
Iran may pass through this tima and many more,What they want is to get us to accept their presence. Then WHAM!
As I remember it, The Suez Canal is not wide enough for both northbound and southbound traffic at the same time.
We KNOW islamabama wont do anything... for Israel and America. But for the opposing forces? He’ll be right there!
That may be, but might they pass in the Red Sea. It should be wide enough for friendly two way traffic, but is narrow enough that passing ships with modern weapons and evil intentions would give minimal warning before doing real damage. Iran wouldn’t win such an encounter, but they could give us a bloody nose and might be nuts enough to attempt it. We should be suitably alert or at least ready to go public with any orders to the contrary.
The Bitter Lake is in the middle...used for transit of ships in both directions....it was here that a couple of freighters were sunk during the 6 day war.
You forget we're talking about ISRAEL here. They don't care if ships approach the coast or are in international waters. They don't care if the ships are "enemy" or "ally." We know this from its unlawful, unprovoked attack on the U.S.S. Liberty which murdered 34 American sailors and injured nearly 200 more.
If Israel makes an unprovoked attack on these ships lawfully crossing through the Suez Canal, Israel deserves what comes next. Obama better not send more Americans to pay in blood for Israeli foolishness.
The attack on the Liberty was attacked in 1967, and I have heard this story used by you and many others on the web to justify cutting Israel off at the knees ever since. It is a simplistic and narrow view of the real situation in the Middle East, and it is a convenient ploy to avoid facing facts and realities overseas.
I ould point out that Israel views their security needs much differently than you or I do.
Kippis!
navyblue, patriot, I assume youre hoping Israel does something. We KNOW islamabama wont do anything.
Actually, I’m sorta hoping something DOESN’T happen to set off the next World War. But my point was that it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if that’s exactly what happened....
What about if they cast a glace towards the USS Enterprise task group recently transiting the canal in the other direction?
Not really worried about that at all. Obama has the Navy under ROE that are so tight, the Iranians would have to sink half the fleet before the Admiral could even radio the Pentagon to ask permission to return fire. Our poor sailors are sitting ducks. Israel is another story altogether....
