9x19mm 124 grain JHP. 3 times minimum. Repeat as necessary.
Any home that doesn't have such basic equipment in a safe room, winds up on the losing end.
Although, I have to credit Mom on this one. She did good with what she had. Sacrifice the dog to save the kids.

Democrats, clearly. Since no mention of breed in post.

Good advice, except this was in the UK. No guns for civilians.
To: Mountain Bike Vomit Carnage
It was either going to be dogs or yutes.
Either way they have more rights than the homeowners.

Democrats, clearly. Since no mention of breed in post. They are Brits, not Democrats. The breed is Pit Bull.
Reading is fundamental.

Last time I checked no cat has gone crazy trying to kill people(housecats I mean).
Love the name BTW....

Sense of irony clearly not fundamental.

Personally, I wouldn't wait until something inevitable happened....

The modern compound bow is the basic answer for this kind of problem when guns would be too noisy or conspicuous.

If I read Brit law correctly, had the homeowner used a gun to end the threat, she would be in custody now, looking at a likely life sentence, with the aggrieved dog owner positioned to claim millions an a lawsuit.
We did well to separate from that island of eternal doofazoidism; but the war continues over here with our own who would descend to the same level of moronic thinking.

This place used to get that kind of humor...not sure what went wrong.

Never seen a dog walk away from a hoe fight. Depends on who has the hoe.
To: StAntKnee
The moslum dog of piece and the druggies dog of choice, pit bulls, but of course, someone is trying to claim one is different, a distinction without a difference.

One of the stories from a couple of years ago was about a similar
incident. The attack may have started outside, but the dog followed them inside.
The two cops that were first on scene had to necessarily repeat to the
extent that a smoke alarm was set off by the amount of rounds
required to put the beast down.

Guns are illegal in England. Idiots

Thanks for getting it. I actually started to explain the irony had nothing to do with nationality. And that I did read, followed the link to the story, which did reveal, high in the story, that one was a pit bull, the other a Staffordshire terrier, but anytime you have to explain irony, the effort is wasted. Amusing the poster left out the party affiliation, though.
Imagine a wink after the last sentence.
