A group of Republican activists in Iowa were attempting to sort out a frontrunner for this early caucus state, when non could be found. They asked numerous Republican primary voters about each speculated candidate and this is what they said:

Mike Huckabee:

Most felt that Huckabee was likable, jovial, and down to earth. Almost every person in the suburban Des Moines group offered positive words for Huckabee until Becky Ervin, who works in human resources, said, “I love the guy, but he’s not tough enough.”

That prompted some revisionism around the room. One person question his toughness to handle national security issues and called him “a pleaser.”

Sarah Palin:

“As a woman, and from one strong woman to another, I want to like her and want to support her desperately. And yet, you just can’t quite do it. I think she’s a great inspirational person. I think she rallies the troops. I don’t think she has what it takes to actually lead our country into a better economic future. . . . And that pains me, because I want a strong woman candidate, and she is a strong woman candidate. But she’s not the right strong woman candidate.”

Ah, shoot, none of them are perfect so we may as well keep what we have.

That way at least we can gloat about what a racist free country we are.

What if they threw an Iowa Caucus and nobody came? I’d love to see the entire potential field boycott Iowa, let them talk to themselves, and then hold campaigns in states that matter. It’s absurd that the whole country has to pay ever-increasing food prices because of the FReepin Iowa caucuses.

To be honest, I do not put much stock in the Iowa Caucus because they have a bad track record. Ford over Reagan? and then Bob Dole over Bush, well I guess that was a toss up, but the one time they chose a conservative was when Reagan was the incumbent. We need conservatives to step up to the plate and take over the Iowa Caucus like the liberals did in the Democrat ones.
