Senate Minority Leader Tracked Down At NIU
Sens. Mark Miller, Lena Taylor Talk About Budget Battle
Shelby Croft, WISN 12 News Anchor/Reporter
UPDATED: 12:55 pm CST February 19, 2011

DEKALB, Ill. -- Two of the 14 elusive state senators surfaced briefly Friday night on the campus of Nothern Illinois University.

“If it means that we have to go to Illinois so that we’re not in the parameters of Wisconsin so that we can make that stand and slow it down, then that’s what we needed to do. It was our only option,” said state Sen. Lena Taylor.

**SNIP**

Taylor made the trip to NIU with Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller. Both said their actions are working.

“We’ve accomplished a lot of what we wanted to do. There's now an opportunity for rational heads to prevail,” Miller said.

The senators said it's time the governor listens. They said workers are willing to take cuts, but don’t want to lose their right to negotiate. They add that their move across state lines isn’t a stunt.

“I can’t tell you how long it will take, but I can tell you that we’re ready to go back tomorrow, right now, if we can get individuals to cool down and slow down and be reasonable and at least listen,” Taylor said.

“We have always negotiated, we sit down across the table and treat each other with respect. That’s what failed to happen here. The governor’s a young man, hopefully he grew up a bit with this experience,” Miller said.

Miller and Taylor left NIU to meet the rest of the senators but wouldn’t say where they’re staying.

What a condescending bitch. Detain her and drag her whiny ass kicking and screaming back to Wisconsin.

Definitely a product of Milwaukee public schools. Sounds just like those "dumb as a box of rocks" high school students on Fox.

Elections have consciences - BHO 2009.

I say shut down the Wisconsin State Government and leave it that way. After all the state does have a constitutional requirement to have a balance budget doesn't it? The political party that won the 2010 election promised to balance the budget without increasing taxes didn't they?

Let the teachers continue to call in sick and use their sick days. That will help reduce the retirement dollars when they retire/get fired. No extra sick days or vacation days to sell back to the state for even more money.

I figure after a few weeks the dimocrats will discover that their “base” will be tired of the shut down and want them back to work.

But by then the Republicans will have declared the seats vacant - the elected office holders walked off the job and knowingly abandoned their duties - and new elections to fill the vacancies can be under way.

Wouldn't that be interesting, return, sign the election paper work, and be arrested or stay away and run the entire campaign as an official write in candidate.

Interpretation = We need to mold him into a wimpy, caving RINO with an enlightened Progressive ideology.

Remember when the Dems were in charge in Washington and they had to pass all of their legislation as fast as they could, and they refused to allow any Republican input? Now these hypocrite Dems in Wisconsin are parroting the exact opposite of what their Party did when they were in power?

The president added, “I won. So I think on that one, I trump you.”

Dec. 2008

“We won’t just throw money at the problem,” Obama said in his weekly radio address and Internet video. “We’ll measure progress by the reforms we make and the results we achieve — by the jobs we create, by the energy we save, by whether America is more competitive in the world.”

They couldn’t stand the heat, so the fled the jurisdiction (kitchen) like the bought and paid for slaves to the labor lobby that they are glaringly in total servitude to for life!!! (at great cost to the “working people” in the tax paying private sector)

Their pay should be docked for each day they are absent.

Find out, who is paying for their expenses. Basic rat politicians never have cash for “vacations”. They expect the tax payers to pay for their indulgences.

If they are not back by Monday:

1. Clean out their offices and put their stuff on the curb outside.

2. Change the locks.

3. Fire any of their aides left in Madison.

4. Deduct the above costs from their wages and any tax monies spent on their illegal vacation in Illinois.

5. Have the governor replace them until legitimate elections can be held.
