I can’t find any obvious artifacts to indicate Photoshop.

Good to know -- it would just be nice to hear from the original poster.

I pulled the photo down and checked for EXIF information. There was none. This seems odd. Usually, a photo will have EXIF info giving the date and time of photograph, camera model and settings, and other information.

Photobucket may strip this info out, but before going viral with it, it should probably be checked for authenticity.

This means whoever took the photo should have the original. That original should have EXIF information.
