Ebie Hussey's first reaction when her son announced that he is gay was to offer unconditional love. Finding a new church was a close second. "His first question was, 'Am I going to hell?' " Hussey said of that conversation with her son, Jaxn. "Mainstream Christianity and fundamental Christianity really pushes that homosexuality is a sin, and he had caught on to that." Jaxn, now 15, knew his parents didn't think that. "But I had always heard people saying that kind of thing," he said. In an effort to counter the message, almost two dozen Houston-area churches have designated Sunday as Bring Your Gay Teen to Church Day.

In any case, many of the posters here are dead right. A sin is a sin, and there IS such a thing as right and wrong. We asked to know of it when we ate - not an apple - but “From the Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil,” and He gave us the skinny some small time later.

I don't know what religiion you follow, but you seem to think it is our duty to judge and mete out punishment for sin......sounds islamic to me.

Yes and no, it is a job of Christians to judge, but the Bible is clear we are not to "mete out punishment".

Who is to deal out punishment?

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities... For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Rom. 13:1

For [the governing authority] is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Rom. 13:4

Paul instructs believers to "not avenge" themselves, "but rather give place to wrath." Governments are the place for wrath for they are "God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath."

If you have scripture to dispute what I have presented, please share with me.

I'm in agreement with you. The homosexual deluge on society is the most insidious, destructive spirit attacking humanity today, although most FReepers here would deny it.

But we can walk and chew gum at the same time. To strengthen those other supports for what is good, our own marriages and our own sexual purity, we have to look, ironically, elsewhere - other than to our own marriages and sexual purity. We MUST stop consuming popular culture...

I am a FReeper primarily to learn and absorb information that cannot be found elsewhere. I occasionally enjoy a debate on different issues, but don't come here to debate against those that should know the difference between right and wrong. I spend a fair amount of time in other blogs educating people not only about the threat of the homosexual agenda, but the moral decay in our society brought on by the poison in pop culture, etc.

The one thing I don't have patience for is people like Sherman Logan and Trumanmutt who WASTE our time debating them about why we don't go out and fight the other battles in the culture war instead of concentrating on homosexuality. It's obviously a ploy used by the pro sodomite agenda to try and put out dozens of other fires while not concentrating on the house that is burning down.

I give monthly to the National Organization for Marriage, I give generously to the Yes on 8 Defense, Liberty Council, American's for Truth about Homosexuality, MassResistance, American Family Association and the Family Research Council; all stalwart defenders of traditional morality and opponents of the homosexual agenda. I've spoken openly in front of the City Council of my city to denounce perversion, surrounded by hoards of homosexuals parading their filth and men freaks dressed in dresses. You'll look hard to find a stauncher warrior against this filth. If they get past me at the front door, it will be through me with a sword.

But we are fools to think we can ignore the windows, which they are also attacking.
