BUS INFORMATION: http://istandwithwalker.com/

As the week has progressed, Wisconsin and the Nation have watched schools across Wisconsin close due to teachers participating in a “sick out”, the unions bussing people in from other states to inflate their rally numbers in Madison and legislators fleeing the state to avoid the vote on the budget repair bill.

It’s time the voices of the Wisconsin people are heard.

We've had thousands of people show up for tea party events to rally to take our state back - but our work isn't done. Let's have our voices heard once again and show our state legislators that we support this bill. We need concerned Wisconsin citizens to show up at noon on Saturday, February 19th to voice our support for Gov. Walker and our conservative legislators! Tell your friends--let's set a turn out record! Remember to be peaceful and bring those signs!See More

Yep. Window dressing. Repubs are a joke. Whopping cuts to the Unions? HA! They are just trying to be better Captains of the Titanic.

Thank you for doing your part to stand with Wisconsin and their brave governor. I wish I could be there too and will march on Tallahassee when needed.

I would be careful if I were going. Lots of folks out of work and agitated, and lots of idiots having watched the BS in Egypt are itching to get crazy against who they perceive are “in power.”

That said, as citizens, it’s our duty to see our Constitution upheld and our country preserved. These teachers, these union members, in my opinion, are putting themselves before the good of their communities, their cities, their state. IMO, they SUCK as Americans and ought to be ashamed of themselves. Talk about a HORRIBLE example to our children. To incite violence against the hand that FEEDS you — that takes some gall.

Just like here in MA. I buy less, and less, and less... The libs can't figure out why revenues are going down. The downside is this sucks for businesses, too. And I have a small business.

My wife and I would love to leave the state. We're waiting for the right time.

It's a first step. We didn't get here overnight. We won't get out of this overnight. But we're establishing a precedent.

This is the first time in my 50 years that I can remember anyone, anywhere standing up against the teacher unions. A victory here makes future victories possible.

People will learn that the world won't come to an end when teacher bennies are cut. The public is also beginning to see that the we're-for-the-children crowd really isn't.

I hope you are right but I don’t think so. Repubs should just bust the Unions instead of playing silly games. This is just a little trim on the edge. But then again they are Republicans. They remind me of Elmer Fudd trying to catch Bugs.

Cancel the school year. Fire all the teachers and rebuild without unions or Federal aid.

Same here in NH...I don't buy much of ANYTHING outside of groceries and gasoline. NH is nearly 10 BILLION in the crapper with a population of slightly over a million. Maybe they should quintuple the tolls on the skiers coming up from Massachusetts and the rest of New England.

Good luck with that.

I don't necessarily disagree with that approach, but it won't happen. I don't think that the governor has that authority, given that the teachers work for their individual districts and not the state. And besides, I bet that Wisconsin teachers don't even make up 10% of the protesters anyway. The DNC and Obama are importing their own rent-a-mob union thugs to put on a show, plus a few college "professors" are recruiting their students to protest for class credit.

Much of this is astroturf, but it pays to show support for what the republicans are doing. If we don't support them when they do something right, they are less likely to do something right in the future.

“I’d have the same worry about the PD, will they protect the peace or will they stand with unions.”

Did the Praetorian Guard back up the Roman Emperor or did they make one of their own into an emperor to replace him?

I would not be surprised if y'all saw the Wisconsin National Guard on site today. If the rent-a-mob is there, there could be trouble. I think that the local police will tend to keep the peace, but the crowd could be beyond their ability to control without additional help.

I am already wearing my flameproof suit, so bring it on.
I believe that Walker is overreaching and will loose the folks in the middle without which he would not have been elected.
As long as he stuck to budget and compensation issues he would have been fine. Limiting teacher/public employee union negotiations to monetary issues and prohibiting negotiations involving working conditions is just the opposite of what he should be doing. The biggest personnel problem in education is administrators who are lazy and/or incompetent and sit around dreaming up policies like zero tolerance so they never have to make a decision themselves.
He MAY win the in the short term but in long run he will loose both and we will have lost another opportunity to get our financial house in order.

I've heard nothing in his proposal that sounds like overreaching.

If we are to save our states and our country, we need Gov. Walker to win this battle so it can be repeated in other states. The Left clearly sees how important this moment is, as evidenced by Obama inserting himself and their rent-a-mob bussing program.

Unfortunately or me, here in CA, we'll have to do it all ourselves via the initiative process since all statewide offices are Dems and our legislature is over 60% Dem in both houses. They're 1-2 seats from supermajorities but they can already act with impunity even with their numbers.
