Arizona State Guard, (HB2070/SB1495)

To Arizona Patriots,

Yesterday, several members of the Arizona State Guard, LLC attended State Senator Sylvia Allen’s Border Security Committee meeting. One of the subjects was SB1495, the senate version of Jack Harpers HB2070 that will create a state-organized, controlled, and funded citizen’s security defense force to be known as the Arizona State Guard (proposed). The conversation was concerning some of the wording to be reviewed and changed, but in essence the bill appears to be moving forward, and it looks like it will eventually hit the Senate Floor. As I understand Jack Harper’s bill is also moving forward quite well in the House and will also make it to the floor for a vote! And, Brewer has said that she would almost certainly sign it!

This is very good news for this state! With the levels of the National Guard depleted well-below acceptable levels, the Arizona State Guard will go a long way towards securing the lives, property, and liberties of the citizens of Arizona. And it is about time that this state take the responsibility for securing its own borders, since the federal gov’t has failed to live up to its Constitutional mandate in this matter. And, Arizona is not alone. According to Chairwoman Allen, there are 47 states that either already have a state-legislated citizen’s state guard, or are in the process of establishing one; just as Arizona is doing! She has been in touch many of those who are making this happen. BTW, in the course of the two hours we were at the committee meeting, we counted 15 times the words states rights or state sovereignty was used by the committee members!

We have a major problem in the state of Arizona currently. We have lost almost 80 miles of our sovereign territory to the encroachment of illegals and bad guys running mule trains full of cocaine north from Mexico into our state, our cities, our neighborhoods, and into our schools! How long will we, the citizens of the this state, stand silently or idlely by while poison is being sent northward with the main intent to destroy the fabric of our country and to cripple our society? How long will we make the excuse that it is the fed’s responsibility to fix the border issue while we have brave men and women working for the Border Patrol or any number of other federal agencies sent out to do their job carrying bean-bags, rubber bullets, mace, or other forms of useless protection while facing automatic AK-47’s, AR 15s, and other assorted weapons? How long will we listen to the lies being perpetrated by DHS about the origins of those weapons? Anyone who knows anything about the situation on the border knows that the vast majority of those weapons have been imported from Russia, Yugoslavia, and China!

The time is NOW! Now, is the time to act, Ladies and Gentlemen! For once, we have the vehicle to stop this travesty, because the Arizona State Guard is the solution! Made up of Arizonians for Arizona, we can and will stop the drug importation from Mexico! There is much more that was said, and more that was implied at that meeting. Our legislature is prepared to provide its citizenry with the tools and equipment it will take to do this job! It won’t be easy, and it won’t be fast, but nothing that is worthwhile ever is!

Because of legislative time frames, the actual formation of the Arizona State Guard will probably not happen until around July, so there is plenty of time to get ready. By that I mean, physical conditioning, equipment acquisition and preparation, and field training! Why wait till July and be behind the learning curve when you can start your training with us now? We are meeting one day every weekend; East side of the Valley on Sunday mornings, and Saturdays on the west side. This week on Saturday (02/19) we will be out at Lake Pleasant for the west side training, and the following Sunday (02/27), we will be out near Gold Canyon Ranch for the east side training.

Very glad to see them doing this. Every state has a right to this; some even have a state naval guard. These can’t be ordered overseas like the national guard can - they can’t in fact be ordered at all by the federal government, only by the state governor. I think the right to these dates from changes in the national guard to their current structure, if not before.

Arizona seems to be in the forefront of this war, no thanks to Obama and Napolitano. They will probably sue to shut the Arizona Guard down.

“They will probably sue to shut the Arizona Guard down.”

I don’t think they can sue, at least not separately from their other lawsuit. Arizona is well within rights to have an armed military state guard. New York and at least another dozen states have them. Look on wikipedia for ‘state guard’, and follow links for the state guards of other states. New York’s also has their own website.

Hey,
What’s the hold up?
Why is Rep. Jerry Weiers burying this? It needs to get onto the Committee Agenda, but he’s stalling for some reason.
I hope he’s not holding back because of Steve Farley’s stupid, unconstitutional bill to limit the arming of a state militia.

They can’t. It’s none of their business. If they try there will be a Constitutional Crisis. States have sovereignty and a constitutional and natural right to raise (man & arm) a militia. Any abrogation of that will cause an uprising like you have never imagined, not even in the Civil War.

There is an inherent fear of the Federal government; always has been, always should be. That’s why the founding fathers included the Second Amendment, specifically.

Did you know that part of that fear is incorporated in the constitutions of 27 states? If martial law were to be declared by the federal government, 27 states have automatic secession clauses in their constitutions. This was designed so that the feds could NOT use this as a ploy to usurp power.
