There are plenty of cuts to make elsewhere. The protection of Israel is commanded by God. Someone hasn’t been reading their Bible.

Maybe I’m an oddball here, but quite frankly I don’t give a sh!t about any of those places over there. I’ve never been there, have no connections to those countries, and I’d be perfectly content to live a long, happy life without ever setting foot over there.

He will have his sleevs rolled halfway up like he as been “workin' fer a livin” with the commoners.

Actually from my perspective the security and fiscal stability of the USA should trump ALL agreements. If oil goes through the roof because of irrational actions in the ME by any country, our USA stability is threatened. We need to take care of our own because we are broke.

Amen. As Christians, it is our duty to protect His Chosen people. I think to start with we should give next year’s foreign aid to Egypt to Israel instead as punishment for Egyptian defiance.

I may have been off a few years...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suez_Canal

After the 1967 Arab-Israeli war, also called the Six Day War, the canal was closed by an Egyptian blockade until 5 June 1975. As a result, fourteen cargo ships known as “The Yellow Fleet” remained trapped in the canal for over eight years.

http://www.talktalk.co.uk/reference/encyclopaedia/hutchinson/m0015494.html

. It was opened in 1869, nationalized in 1956, blocked by Egypt during the Arab-Israeli War in 1967, and not reopened until 1975.

Oh, right. God handed down another set of stone tablets telling a bunch of people in the Middle East to establish a modern, secular state with a European-style parliamentary government in 1948 -- and slap a sticker on it with the name "Israel."

And over the next few decades he sent his prophets among other groups of people in places like Brooklyn, New York -- to tell them to start packing their bags and moving to some place place halfway around the world . . . because it was all part of this "agreement," right?

Barry is likely heading to Wisconsin to give aid to those he really values.

Huh? Let Israel loan us some money. Their national debt is only $11K per person. USA is close to $50K. God says to take of your family first. That's what the USA needs to do and that's what I do.

I certainly hope you are right and I am wrong, Sam.

However I am sure the Islamic intent universally in the Middle east is the destruction of Israel regardless of consequences. I believe that the result will likely damage the Suez Canal (8% of world trade) and the Saudi oil fields, or the Saudi willingness to sell to us. (48% of US oil usage)

These losses will collapse the US economy, and a significant part of the created wealth in the world stock markets.

It would be easy for a socialist President to use a crisis like this to expand socialist policy and control. Ask yourself, what would FDR do?

I see -- that's great information there.

I'm not sure how effective something like that would have been in pressuring Israel to sign the Camp David Accords. The U.S. and Europe have derived a far bigger benefit from the Suez Canal than anyone else over the years.

"And I will bless those that bless you and curse the one who curses you. And in you shall all families of the earth be blessed."

The blessing that is bestowed upon America by God is ultimately what insures our safety and prosperity. To go against Israel is to go against God. To provide for Israel is to take care of America.

It’s not a big deal. Just keep an eye on them and that’s all. As for the treaty, it’s largely meaningless, like all unenforceable treaties. The canal is wholly within Egyptian territory, so if they decide to abrogate the treaty, that’s that.

“blow them both out of the water.”

How about “silently let gravity be the bitch as they head for the sea floor.”

repeating the Ayatollahs return in Iran... some things just do not change...and that includes most of the ME. They will indeed go to war once they complete their agenda to merge their nations.
