WASHINGTON (AP) -- The union that represents Border Patrol agents says an overtime proposal in President Barack Obama's budget means losses for frontline agents.
The proposal is an attempt to save $110 million by changing the overtime system for Border Patrol agents. They now get time and a half for their first 10 hours of overtime per week, and half-time for any additional unscheduled overtime hours.
The president's budget proposes to pay agents straight-time for their first 10 hours of overtime per week, and no compensation for any additional, unscheduled overtime hours.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Anyone think Obama would set up the same rules for all of his union buddies?
Hey, not to worry!
Just because our borders are unsecured against illegal immigrants and would-be terrorists, the President has every intention of assuring there are enough new IRS agents to tax our tanning parlors.
The guy’s got his priorities squared away...
Correct and if that a-hole jorge bush had not pissed away all that fence money we would not need as many.
You certainly ae correct.
The jerk does everything ass backwards.
He should be cutting the guts out of the Department of Education and the EPA and spending that money on the border.
The Constitution specifies that the federal government protect us from foreign threat. It does not specify that the federal government run the school system or regulate our industry.
If you thought border security was a joke now wait until Border Patrol Agents lose 25 percent of their pay.
Oh, man what an effing disaster.
Hey, maybe they could take the 50+ billion they're going to blow on rail transportation no-one will use and instead, oh, I don't know... SECURE THE {EXPLETIVE} BORDER!
However, he calls the family of a slain border agent and offers his condolences. Hypocrite.
