President Obama's propaganda priorities are becoming clearer. Does the community activist-in-chief care about a billion Chinese and what they know about their dictatorial government? Community organizers are supposed to speak truth to power. How can the Chinese people speak truth to power when they are cut off from learning the truth?
Bill Gertz of the Washington Times reports:
The Obama administration will cancel shortwave radio broadcasts by Voice of America into China this year, as Beijing is expanding its propaganda operations in the United States and around the world.
Critics of the broadcasting cuts, announced Monday, said major reductions in staff and shortwave broadcasts will sharply curtail an important outlet for unfiltered news and information for large numbers of people in China, especially areas such as Tibet and western Xinjiang province, where pro-democracy forces are opposing Chinese rule.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Whatever. I’m trusting Congress to de-fund NPR completely. We should not give tax money to Soros operations. Let him step up and kick in the difference.
LOL. Tell us again, Michael Medved you putz, how good Obama’s intentions are.
Why would you piss off your banker?
Of course he’s going keep the Chinese happy.
So he’s taking money allocated by Congress for VOA in China and moving it to another area which Congress did not authorize.
BO is not king, that is against the law.
You know the Free Trade Communists, who support Free Trade with Communist China (like their buddy Obama does)...are supporting this move to take from VOA and give to NPR
Free Trader Communists have been supporting the Chinese Communist Party for years. First, they ship all the American wealth and jobs to Commie China....now they cut off VOA...not to save taxpayer money...but to give to NPR.
More proof that, if you support Free Trade with Communist China....you are a Communist. And, Obama agrees with you.
WTF, baby, Winning The Future!
We are so screwed.
China’s worldwide shortwave operation is scary-good. It and the BBC are the only two services I’ve been able to pick up almost almost anywhere on Earth.
It is madness to shut down our shortwave operations. I’m sure the argument is “well, the Internet has made all that obsolete.” But less than 30% of the world’s population has Internet access, Einstein! Many of those people DO have access to a shortwave radio, however.
And most of those, now, will be listening to China Radio International.
Damn, this is depressing.
Is this from The ONION??
The regime is just funneling the money to the proper channel to achieve the cause. The cause: propaganda. The channel: NPR. The Chinese people are already communist, so the money is better spent here, to make us [more] communist.
Why is Medved a putz? I didn’t see him mentioned in the article and I don’t believe he is in favor of public funding for the CPB, given that he is opposed to federal funding for the NEA and in fact debated the CEO of NEA on his show today.
You may disagree with him about other issues, but on this
I believe he is on the right side. If there is evidence to the contrary please enlighten us.
Oh, how I hate this anti-American Muslim.
Nevertheless, it’s a good insight into the punk 0bama.
The headline is a bit confusing. He’s proposing a bill to give NPR more money next year. Hopefully congress will NOT agree. Hopefully they will cut the whole thing this time.
And evidently Obama defunded VOA broadcasts to China by his usual trick—loading up the Board of VOA with left wing crazies, ready and eager to do his will.
Given the two choices 0bama's actions do not surprise me.
Does VOA know of this?
NPR is the Socialist VOO (Voice Of Obama) over here.
Medved is a putz.
He was shamelessly promoting the RINO McCain in the primaries two years ago.
To rahbert, if you have a “Medved = PUTZ” pinglist, I want on it.
I used to like listening to that PUTZ, but no more.....
