Republican US Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts says he was sexually abused as a child by a camp counselor.
In an interview slated to air Sunday on the CBS-TV show "60 Minutes," Brown said he was abused several times by the counselor.

He pounded my head, my back, and plowed into me with those massive knuckles and flat, sandpapery palms until I was shaking and sobbing and snot was pouring out of my nose.
When the beating was done, his stepfather threatened to kill him if Brown told his mother, Brown says.
"I knew that he would kill me," Brown writes. "I was six years old and completely alone with him. It was a feeling of fear and hopelessness that I could barely comprehend."
Some people on this thread have no empathy. Reading his experience reminds me of the dangers kids face. Kids are so vulnerable.
Some threads on FR today have been despicable with people mocking Lara Logan's sexual assault. The lack of empathy shows a lack of character.
Yawn.
Next!
You might want to report some of these people for abuse on your thread. I’m disgusted with the lack of human decency on FR today. Lara Logan doesn’t deserve it, and neither does Scott Brown.
Unreal some of the comments here and on the LL thread. Just unreal. Sickening.
This is what I thought right away. The timing of this revelation is way too suspicious. It could also be to drum up the symphony vote to ward off a tea party challenge. Either reason is despicable.
Or "preservation".
But there were other substances as well.
How macho of you to share that with us, Scottie.
I don't always follow my advice myself, but I try to remember to only post things that I would say to someone on person.
so true.
No it is not. But some comments reflect their doubts about this guy—He voted to repeal DADT. That does not sound like somebody who cares about kids getting abused.
Does it?
It sounds like somebody who is a media whore.
Massachusetts, like the rest of this Republic shall soon come to understand, is a realm that lives based on compliance under total government control of every human function right down to bowel movement.
Wait till they can not find people to make toilet paper for free.
I learned years back as a buyer the only sure way to guarantee termination was the failure to provide Coffee, TP, tampons and sugar.
“I learned years back as a buyer the only sure way to guarantee termination was the failure to provide Coffee, TP, tampons and sugar.”
When my sons were dinky, they thought tampons made great rockets. You were wise to include something for everyone, even the children!
In Mogilov, Belarus, the toilet paper (single roll) was displayed among the crystal pieces in a shop window.
There are some needs that must be met immediately.
The entire middle east is going through a similar episode as we try and dump our debt through an inflationary system we hope only hits those brown peoples.
We will all understand later, if we are lucky enough to find a $45 loaf of bread somewhere.
This is only new to the young.
“We will all understand later, if we are lucky enough to find a $45 loaf of bread somewhere.”
I’m old. I do not have a martyr complex. I do not have a death wish.
I agree with what you say. I hope God will be merciful and our arrival at $45/loaf is more gradual than we think it will be. At the same time, I hope that discovering that being American does not exempt us from the laws of morality and economics, etc. does bring an awakening, and a return to thoughtful, sober, serius common sense.
In the last Mass. election, Brown backed a scumbag named Jeff Perry who, at the very least, lied to back up a cop that molested a young girl. Another 14 year old girl accused the same Perry of witnessing her being molested (while Perry was a cop) and doing nothing. While endorsing Perry, Brown described him as a ‘decent and honorable’ man. I hope I don’t have to explain why I have no empathy for him.
Not funny! Like it or not camp counselors have hurt more kids than most realize. Idiot! Abuse is abuse no matter what they look like.
