Last night, the House of Representatives Rules Committee shut down Rep. Steve Kings ability to offer an amendment to completely defund Obamacare on the continuing resolution to fund the government through the end of the year. House Republicans are now hiding behind parliamentary rules to say that it would somehow violate what the new Republican Majority is all about.
crap...I forgot the link and I don’t know the html to do manually. Sorry:
www.redstate.com
Go to the following HTML practice thread and you’ll be doing links in less than five minutes. If you omit all html in a post like the one above that you put the link in it will automatically become a working link just as the link below. Just don’t use any other html such as paragraphs, etc.

It’s starting to look like we brought a bunch of poodles to a dogfight.
Thanks!
Oh, WOW! So there IS a way to defund it within the current year?
This should be done IMMEDIATELY! It will be the fault of the Senate and the President if they don’t pass the bill to fund the government that is offered, and 0 will have to sign his own defunding or the government stops.
These Pubbies are not even poodle material.
My Rep does not have the ability to understand this rule. She is as liberal as they come and would do nothing knowingly to undo anything BHO wants. I think they call that a “LAP DOG”.
GOP == Conservative Values NOT!
Present GOP Leadership cronies are corrupt, anti-conservative elites!
2010 is only a beginning of what must continue for Our Precious Republic’s restoration.
Judge action, not words. Take notes, be active, and support new, truly conservative candidates. Be one yourself, if capable!
The time to leave it to politicians is over, if you care about our freedom and your children’s future!
Plain and simple IMHO
Dreier has been impeding progress for at least a month now.
He’s marching to his own big-government RINO drum
This, from January:

Rules Committee Chairman David Dreier (R-Calif.) said the party was not interested solely in repealing in the law. The House will vote on a separate resolution directing four committees to develop alternative health care proposals.

the government stops, and the media goes non stop about how the Republicans are shutting down the goverment again.
The Republicans are basically saying they’re not going to do that, at least not right now.
They should take heat for whatever decision, but not from the same people.
If they do shut down the government, they better come up with a good way to do it. Kings method might not have led to a good result.
These are promises that you must keep. Obamacare is a job-killer, a regulatory nightmare, and an enormous unfunded mandate. -Click for full statement on Facebook by Gov. Palin

Elect Sarah Palin for President 2012
Re-Elect President Sarah Palin 2016
They need to play by the democrats rule book for the last 2 years and when the screaming starts, they simply state they are playing by the rules the dems instituted. How much fairer can that be?
A suggestion would be to tell the rebelling Republicans in the House that if they don’t find a way to get around this convenient roadblock some are trying to hide behind then we as conservative voters will find a way to replace them in 2012.
“Dreier has been impeding progress for at least a month now.”
It’s time to send that ass-pirate pal of Hugh Hewitt’s into retirement. Let him run GOProud.
Agreed!
Either that, or he can join Arnie on a global warming tour.
He was instrumental in getting that jerk elected governor.
(ass-pirate? Never heard that one before, LOL)
