The Pentagon is denying reports that Gen. David Petraeus will leave his post as commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan at the end of the year.
Contrary to the "sensational speculation by one of the London papers" Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said that though Petraeus will not stay in his post "forever," a date for his departure has not been determined, and the general has not quit.
"Obviously he will rotate out at some point, but that point has not yet been determined and it will not occur anytime soon," Morrell said. "Until then, he will continue to ably lead our coalition forces in Afghanistan."

bet the farm that they are lying.
Sounds like a nondenial denial.
The paper in question is the Times of London. They may, of course, be mistaken, but it is not a paper that normally indulges in “sensational speculation.”
Into politics?
We can only hope he goes into politics.
I hope he doesn't share Former Generals Colin Powell or Wesley Clark's politics!
Where does he stand on abortion, affirmative action, taxes, government run amuck, militarization of the police, illegal immigration, oil exploration and exploitation, 2nd amendment, global warming hoax, environmentalists damaging our productivity, and Obamacare, just to name a few issues?
Only then will I consider whether he should be in politics or not.
*That's a cute uniform Dave *uh, thanks Mr. President * Don't ask - don't tell*
