In an unprecedented move the leaders of Jordan's main Bedouin tribes have published an open letter addressed to King Abdullah II accusing his wife, Queen Rania, of corruption. The text, released on 5 February, is signed by 36 representatives of the main Bedouin tribes. It comes at a particularly difficult time for the king, whose authority has been sapped by the growing discontent voiced by demonstrators.
...
The letter makes no direct reference to the issue of the country's fragile ethnic balance, but claims that the queen, of Palestinian parentage, has created centres of power serving her own interests. This trend upsets the agreement on governance between native Jordanians and the royal family, posing a threat for the monarchy.
"We call on the king to return to the treasury land and farms given to the [queen's] Yasin family. The land belongs to the Jordanian people," the letter demands.

She’s a Palestinian. Jordan WAS a fabulous place to visit....PETRA is Un-believable!!
If the king loses the bedouin, he’s finished. Get the chalet in Gstaad ready.
These would be the same tribes who are in league with Muslim radicals and are blowing up the pipelines. She’s probably not a pure Arab ethnically, so they hate her just for that. Bedouins are part of the Mad Mo clan and Islam is nothing but an Arab supremacy cult, installed by Mad Mo to subjugate the places his bandidos had conquered.
Why didn’t the King, whne he was Crown Prince, marry a Jordaninan woman?
I think if 36 tribal leaders are writing an open letter accusing the queen of corruption then the king has already lost their support.
There are more Palestinians in Jordan than Jordanians. IIRC King Abdullah's father (or grandfather) massacred a large number of them to stop an uprising. Marrying a Palestinian was a very tactical political move.
Really.
Not Guilty as HELL! Never Drew a Guilty Breath in her Life
I didn’t realize the difference... thought all of the MidEast was arabic except Iran being Persian. Seems Jordan was a political construct of 1948.
Put another way, if you have the Bedouin roaming around, then you are Arab.
P.S. the dirty little secret is they are really the same thing.......
The only thing I KNOW about bedouins is that they come out of NOWHERE in the desert, I mean NOWHERE, when you stop on the side of the road to take a picture....they DEMAND MONEY from you....luckily we had Arab guide and driver....they were SCARY!
This all just obscures the fact that Jordan is Palestine; its the king’s family who is not Jordanian. In other words, she belongs, he doesn’t.
You’ll remember that the Hussein family came from Mecca; when the Sauds kicked them out, the Brits gave them Jordan instead.
Bedouins—is there anything they don’t know?
Mad Mo came out of nowhere in the desert. His tribe lived by attacking caravans of merchants from civilized places in the East who were on their way to civilized places in the ME (Persia, Baghdad, etc.).
But he sure as heck didn’t live in one and in fact these tribes survived only by attacking more civilized cultures. They haven’t changed much. His delirious brainchild, Islam, just institutionalized it.
I did not have sex with that woman...I have an alibi.
Win The Future is that?
She’s very beautiful and she also seems to be very modern (in a good way).
I really think that Muslim men have a problem with beautiful women - well, heck, make that any women - but for some reason they really seem to get outraged about women like her.
Also, I think there’s a class thing going on. The Islamists have melded with the left and all of a sudden they are going out and attacking the upper middle class. She is not from a traditional Islamic royal family, to my knowledge, and I think the leftist/Muslim alliance hates her precisely because of her beauty, her intelligence and goodwill, and her background.
